Is it worth going to an anonymous state?
trust parties can remain anonymous, it's not a matter of public record.a personal property trust (the one best suited to claiming a lottery win) is an asset protection document. The IRS knows who you are for tax purposes, they don't post that info anywhere. The trust is a cleverly worded document that needs no further action than the stamp of a notary to execute. Grantor/Trustee/Beneficiary info is not a matter of public record either.Owners of multiple rental properties utilize the personal pro

Is it worth going to an anonymous state?
I never said I wouldn't tell my family members. This thread is about remaining anonymous and remaining anonymous calls for drastic measures sometimes. If it means waiting until your funds are secure and family members are safe from any harm that might come to them.I live in a fairly big city if I won a 300 mill plus jackpot and told everybody before I cashed the ticket I would be in deep toilet water. These people around here would go ape on me. If I won we would quietly leave here and go to the

Is it worth going to an anonymous state?
How about Bahrain? LOLSuppose you told your sister, brother or cousin and they told someone and that person told someone and those people told other people. how long before it filters down to you.You mean you wouldn't share your prize money with your family? Gosh, the first person I'd call would be my sister. As far as remaining anonymous, I too prefer to keep my privacy, but what's the point of going through all the hassle? You suddenly have lots of wealth, so enjoy it and just attend the press

Online lottery buying
I thought that if you used PLAYLOT that you kept ALL of the lottery money. The only thing PLAYLOT does is charge you double the cost of the ticket because they charge for their administrative fees. PLAYLOT also will allow winners not be exploited via their website if they chose not to and will even help you claim your prize.Did you know that if you buy Mega Millions tickets they are routed to the state of Maryland (which does allow you to remain anonymous, for the most part.) And if you play Po

Can You Remain a Virtual Unknown?
Well, there is sometimes a way around all this publicity. Of course, there are several states that will allow you to remain COMPLETELY anonymous and others you MIGHT be able to get away with a blind trust. Whomever signs the back of that ticket (it could be your attorney or some other entity) gives them permission to relased that name (NIT TRUST or John Jacobs, Attorney, etc) and the city and state of residence. Just have to do your homework and be willing to make that sacrifice (driving hundred

Massachusetts Lottery winners increasingly opting to stay anonymous
Some people can't believe David Spillane's luck when it comes to the state lottery. People come up to me and say congratulations. How come you win over and over? Spillane, a lawyer from Hanover, said in a recent interview. Five times since Jan. 1, Spillane has gone to Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Braintree to claim a winning ticket. The total windfall to date is $6 million. Each time, the state Lottery has distributed to the press and posted on its website the standard g

Claiming Anonymously and keeping your winnings! (a paranoid approach)
Hi Everyone, I'm a Longtime LotteryPost reader, first time contributor. I've been visiting this site and Todd's USA Mega for at least 5 years, been playing the lotto a lot longer than that. This probably seems like a big pretentious first post, but I joined because I wanted to share some thoughts and info I've accumulated over the years, if you don't mind. This is an awesome community and I love hearing your thoughts and rhetoric over the forum topics here, so I'd love to share one more, if y

Florida and Claiming a Jackpot Anonymously
There's something fluky/crazy that I think is kind of interesting that could actually happen in Florida with a second place PowerBall win of either a million (or more) dollars. In Florida, if you win more than $250,000 in any Florida lottery game, you can claim your winnings and remain anonymous, but only for six months! That's per Florida Statute 24.1051 On it's website, The Florida Lottery publishes a PDF file/report called Jackpot Winners Retailers Information . If you win a jac

Legislation allows Montana lottery winners to remain anonymous
The Montana Lottery sent out its first news release Friday listing major lottery prizes won this week without including the names of the winners, following a new law allowing prize winners to remain anonymous. The Legislature passed the bill last month and Gov. Greg Gianforte signed it into law on March 31. While the legislation did not have an effective date, lottery spokesperson Jennifer McKee said they followed the spirit of the legislation in only releasing the towns were the major pri
