Maine loses Powerball, Mega Millions during state closure
The money is there. As the article says, they bring in a profit of $200k for the state. There is no reason why they cant enact a bill that says they will fund the lottery as other states have done when they have failed to pass a budget on time.

Mississippi lottery panel visits neighboring states to garner information
After I read the article my thought was those folks were really clueless. Also, I'm surprised they didn't visit states that have very successful lotteries such as Texas, and New York.

Oo, this is interesting. What do you think?
Before that happened, there was an article in I believe Lottery World magazine suggesting some state lotteries should consider programming their terminals for multiple bets like full, partial, and abbreviated wheels all on one ticket. There were many lottery syndicates then so that would benefit them more than the average player.

Meet the NYC men who won the lottery hundreds of times and collected millions
Well the article only listed winnings that you had to file of 600$ or more. Since most rarely get the $600+ prize (once for me) these numbers did not include all the smaller prizes he won. Therefore the loss amount will be alot less. The important thing is he could afford to blow 300$ a day, therefore he got more $600+ then most of us since we don't spend as much.

Meet the NYC men who won the lottery hundreds of times and collected millions
He says in the article that he spends about 300 bucks a day, and gives money away like candy. Out of that 1.2 million, he probably netted about a third or less after taxes, expenditures and giveaways.

Has anyone quit their day job to play numbers?
I wonder if this character is still on the streets of NY making that kind of cash given that this post is from a Nov 2015 article. Sometimes opening up your cake hole about your fortunes can have a negative impact on your revenue flow. Out here in this neck of the woods there is a panhandler who had his little dog wrapped around his neck with his sign says bet you can't hit me with a quarter. Very creative to say the least.

Georgia: 4/1 - 4/30/2017
I just noticed on the WSBTV app an article about Delta canceling 275 flights today. Another number mentioned was 300. Should be interesting if 300 ends up being the result tonight.

Indiana Powerball winner claims $435 million jackpot anonymously
Hopefully, if that happens it will be far enough in the future where people will have other things to worry about. The best part is, his name is not directly connected with the win. Not listed on Powerball's webpage or a news article about it.

Virginia couple wins lottery for fourth time
Thank you Kal! USA! USA! USA. There was an interesting article about people who have this sudden sense of moral outrage. The conclusion was that it was a reflection of their own moral shortcomings.
