Waiting for Wealth
(EDIT: This is in reply to CDanaT, I apparently forgot to tick the quote this post box.) I will ask you the same question that I asked Googler earler in the topic(to which he failed to reply)...... How Much Money Should the Rich Be Allowed to Keep ???? What percentage should they should their tax level be ? 50, 60, 80 % ??? I'd say we need to come to a consensus on what rich means. Having looked at our current tax rates, I actually wouldn't change much. What I would do is add two

Pick-3 ON-LINE All State Strategy From my System using the Top Hot Pick-3 numbers of the day you could win playing in all states ON-LINE. The Strategy would be to play the top three numbers straight and box in all state games for that day. You could start out playing twenty-five cents straight and twenty-five cents box and as you win and build up a kitty then you could increase the amount of the bets to win more money. The single state strategy is the same but only playing the to

Powerball Won Again... Already?
From an earlier post of THRIFTY is this thread WHICH HAS THE BETTER CHANCE OF WINNING: COMPUTER PICKS OR PLAYER PICKS? About 70% to 80% of purchases are computer picks. About 70% to 80% of winners are computer picks. Perhaps just one of those weird coincidences? That is not false but it may not be absolutely true either. Some states have systems that allow players to pick a portion of their combinations and the computers to fill in the rest which are also recorded as computer picks.

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Yes you can increase your chances of winning by buying more tickets Do you understand that that's exactly what most people have been saying all through the thread? And that a while back you said, If you buy 2 tickets your chances of winning are not 2 in 175 millions. You have 1 in 175 millions twice. The only way to increase or decrease the Odds of any lottery game is by changing the game matrix. That's true, but you don't understand it completely. The odds of the game are determ

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Todd's most recent post has it right, but I'd like to try and restate it anyway. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links or not, but I'm taking this from the Wikipedia article on probability, Mathematical Treatment section. Independent probability If two events, A and B are independent then the joint probability is for example, if two coins are flipped the chance of both being heads is Mutually exclusive If either event Aor event Bor both events occur on a

Powerball multi-state lottery to raise prices, jackpots
I've done some thinking on this, and spent some time writing an e-mail to someone this morning. It summarizes my views on the changes pretty well, so I'm re-posting it here. I know that it will not make everyone happy to read it, but I am trying to rise above the anger and contemplate the changes on a reasonable and thoughtful level. I hope it will be taken as such, as food for thought. My e-mail below is in response to an e-mail written to me, in which the person does not like the changes

Kentucky Lottery installing self-service machines
State prepares for upcoming Powerball changes A one-dollar Powerball ticket will soon be a thing of the past. Changes are coming to the Kentucky Lottery. After the first of the year a Powerball ticket will cost $2 instead of $1. There are some changes coming to the Powerball game in January, says lottery spokesman Chip Polston, where Powerball is going to become a $2 game that we really hope is going to spur those larger jackpots that players really like to play. That is just one of th

Tenn. lawmakers float ideas to improve lottery revenues
Tennessee state Senate minority leader is calling on fellow lawmakers to find ways to increase lottery revenues instead of cutting back on the scholarship program, while Gov. Bill Haslam has assigned his staff to consider a broad range of options for stabilizing the game's finances. Jim Kyle, D-Memphis, said in a letter released Wednesday that while the Tennessee Higher Education Commission estimates that the lottery will deplete its sizable reserves by 2024, it also says annual losses could
