Poll: What game does "lottery" bring to mind to you?
A study was done where people were told to draw a map of the world. everyone put the country they were from as the center. I wonder if the same type of thing would apply to lotteries. We have a lot of discussions here about strategies, number selections, etc... But Pick 3 players are not thinking of multi-million dollar jackpots and jackpot game players are not thinking box, straight box, or straight. When you hear the word lottery, or come to LP and see a thread, what game first comes

When To Play The Lottery
Thats what i was saying. I have indeed seen our Fantasy Five with consecutive winners all the time because thats the nature of the game but never the Super lotto jackpot or even Mega millions. I know this seems weird but I am one of those that still don't truly trust the randomness or legitimacy of the lottery. In the few years I've played, I've seen some wierd coincedences that tells me so. And I have yet to see consecutive lottery wins. I think there is some way the officials can control the w

Which is your game of choice?
I am very surprised to see that the results of this poll are currently showing that the pick 5 game is a close second on here to pick 3. Judging by the forum activity among the pick 3, pick 4, and pick 5 forums, I would have assumed that pick 5 would not be as popular. But if there are really this many people who concentrate on pick 5, why is it that the pick 5 forum is, for the most part, very inactive compared to the pick 3 and pick 4 forums? I have not been having much luck with pick 5 mys

Things i've noticed: How do you plan to get the 100 Mill mark if is only 4 to 5 times a year
yeah it is similar here in oz, but not with such big jackpots. people only buy tickets when the impssible games of 1 in 40 mill odds have jackpoted to over $20 mill. yet games that offer a jackpot of $500k and odds of 1 in 2 mill to winn are scoffed at, even though you are 20 times more likely to win a $500k pot. personally i play em all every week just for my $1 a game. on the theory that actually having a ticket. and yeah ill happily take the $500k or the 20 mill, ill e

The Illinois Halloween Raffle
Cha$e-IL Not sure if you're talking Number games or the raffle, but if it's number games there sure are a lot of winners in Chicago. Here's the Little Lotto jackpots for this year. https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/186805/10 The Pick 6 (Lotto) hasn't been hit enough to really show anything. The last 2nd Chance promotion had most of the winners in Chicago, most 2nd Chance promotions do - unless, of course, if you call anything south of 183rd Street Downstate .

Why do the folks in the East always seem to win??
The statistic show that Washington, California, and Texas buy about 25% of the MM tickets and as fja pointed out, combined has won about 24% of the jackpots and a very reasonable proportion. On five QPs lines at best you can only get 25 of the 56 numbers so only matching 2 or 3 numbers is expected. The overall odds of winning something is 1 ticket out of every 40 tickets and if seven other players bought five QPs too, one of them probably won something. It doesn't really matter if you match a

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
I stopped posting to this thread hoping you or someone else might start a new thread about systems for MegaMillions or PowerBall or both but so far I've seen nothing. There is definitely an interest in a discussion of the subject. The mere mentioning of lottery system generates a lot of responses. Mean while I continue to tweak the system I used to pick combinations for MM and even expanded it to play Ohio Classic Lotto and Rolling Cash5 when their jackpots were unusually high but with littl
