California Lottery cancels sales meeting in aftermath of rowdy party photos
The California Lottery is postponing a planned sales conference in the wake of an anonymous employee's recent complaint to Gov. Jerry Brown about senior leaders behaving inappropriately at a Southern California bar two years ago. The department on Tuesday announced that it's delaying the conference while it retools some of the training it intended to offer to focus on human resources and nondiscrimination policies. The conference was expected to take place next week in Sacramento. The

Georgia bill would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous — for a price
The Georgia Senate's higher education committee voted in favor Tuesday of allowing a bill to move forward that would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous but they would have to pay for that privacy. Senate Minority Leader Steve Henson, the lead sponsor of Senate Bill 331, said the legislation is aimed at protecting multi-million dollar lottery winners from scam artists and other criminals. It could put you at risk, Henson said during Tuesday's committee meeting. Henson said eight

Lottery-winner secrecy bill dies in Idaho Senate
GeneralMac, No one here is demanding that should you win a jack[pot you would have to remain anonymous. There are many who would like to have the choice of remaining anonymous or not. Your posts regarding this are starting to sound like, If I win a jackpot I'll handle my way, and if you win one you'll handle it my way, too. De facto lottery agent perhaps? A jackpot winner who had the chance to remain anonymous and didn't is tragic. Read all about Bunky Bartlett; Maryland

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
Jon D, It's not my right to know, it's the public's right to know what their government is doing with their money. Then how come so many 'publics' in so many countries are just fine with winners being anonymous - and not taxed? And what about the winner's rights? Should a jackpot winner be innundated with pleas from charities and deals from shysters and who knows what else just because some obnoxioulsy nosey clods somewhere think they have a 'right' to know who won? If you really thin

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
I guess I'm in the minority here: I don't like anonymous. There's several different levels of publication of winners in different states: 1. Full disclosure: Full name given out in marketing/promotion and cannot be refused. 2. Partial disclosure: Marketing/promotion can be refused, only first name and last initial shown in an initial listing. No picture with ginormous check, no other promos. But person's full name is given out on public records request. 3. Trust option: same as #2, e

Pa. couple claims $128 million Powerball jackpot
I found it interesting to read, The elated twosome, who chose to remain anonymous.... , as I believe all winners should have the right to anonymity. However, the Pennsylvania Lottery's website states that winners can not remain anonymous, see below. I hope they have changed their policy. Can I remain anonymous although I m a Lottery prize winner? Certain winner information is public under the state Lottery Law and Pennsylvania s Right-to-Know Law. The Pennsylvania Lottery pu

Calif. lottery winners try to remain as anonymous as possible
Lottery officials are legally required to release the winner's name, where the ticket was purchased and the amount won, (Alex Traverso) said. I'm calling BS on this one. Alex Traverso the lotto spokesman, needs to get his facts straight. Lottery officials are NOT legally required to release the winner's name. How many times have we read a California SuperLotto Plus winner claim the prize anonymously? As in the winner's name was never given out to the public. Check out these other ne
