$75M Texas Lotto jackpot claimed by business partnership
I have better systems now than when I was 28. At that time I didn't bother much with regular numbers games like Pick-3 or Pick-4. I wanted only the big jackpot. Even though a lot of winners on jackpots are QP I STILL think that's because a lot more people PLAY QP but I wonder if there is a way to get some kind of statistics of how many people win with systems vs. QP vs. the overall field . If (rough example) 100 players are sampled playing the same # tickets each and 80 use QP and 20 picked the

Does money buy you happiness?
Moneycan buy happiness for me. Notice I said for me. One example is being able to pay for my kids college education, room and board, give them a car to drive, etc. Thats makes me happy as can be. Not being able to provide things such as these would not make me unhappy, but I would be worried about whether or not they would be able to get scholarships etc. Oh, yeah, one more example. Being able to provide for healthcare, quality of life care for aging parents who struggled all of their

B.C. Lottery shuts down retailer as probe continues
In B.C., retailers are winning an estimated six times more prizes than they statistically should. In Ontario, police are investigating tens of millions of dollars in dubious jackpots paid to retailers. In Nova Scotia, the government is investigating reports that retailers are 10 times luckier than the public on ticket purchases. It will be very interesting to see what their findings are. I would like to see the reports and the proof of improprieties. I have suspicions of som

Who has the worse of situations?
Folks, there is no Person B. There have been a few people who have won two Pick 6 jackpots, but as far as I know, not even three, let alone six in eight months. And as others and myself have said here, if there was such a person the state offering the game would cut it off. -Talk about bad karma! Genie: You can develool a system and hit six times in eigh months- but because of you that game will no longer be offered and all Pick 6 games will expand to a 80 number matrix, still want me

Which game is hardest...
When I study a game, I just look at the odds shown on the web site. To me, they really tell the story. Of course pick-3 is always going to be the game to play with the least amount of combinations. However, I don't think any lottery games are easy, just some have more possible combinations, giving the player a less likely shot at winning with an equal amount of tickets. The less combinations possible, the better chances of winning. The more tickets you buy, your chance of winning increases

LP Member's Observations / "Laws of Lotto"
Coin Toss' law of lottery game difficulty: The number of players for any lotto will be directly inversely proportional to the difficulty level of the game, and the number of winners the game produces - i.e., more people will play Mega Millions than Pick 3. This will happen even though there might only be one, or even no winners for a jackpot game and thousands for a Pick 3. Coin Toss' law of the unconscious. There's a phrase in Japanese which translates, Born unconscious, died while s

Mexican Lotteries
Rumor has it that The Melate lottery is petty cash for the mexican government. They use the money to finance political campaigns. A melate ticket is more expensive than a mega million or powerball ticket. Despite being a national Lottery, the jackpots are so low. The highest jackpot is about 10 million dollars (which is rare) Maybe the only advantage is that they give the jackpot in a lump sum taking away 21% for taxes.

What is your ticket checking ritual?
Me personally, I absolutley DO NOT check my tickets the night of the drawing. The reason for this is I do not want to lose any sleep if/when I win . (I actually broke my tradition for that $390 because they took so long to update the page.) I usually check them as soon as I get up in the morning. That way I am refreshed and ready for the day and won't do anything irrational like grabbing the family at 11pm friday night and driving to Lottery Headquarters in Lawrenceville, NJ KNOWING that the

Georgia Trucker Claims Half of Record $390 Million Lottery Jackpot
I also figured Whodeani was being sarcastic. However, ya never know on this board, since there are a few members who make very unusual comments. As far as the man being a country bumpkin goes - he's now a very, very rich country bumpkin. Unlike most employers nowadays, the lottery fairy doesn't run a background check on your education before selling you a ticket! I think he sounds like a nice guy who just got excited and was in shock. Anyway, just because someone lives in a small town in
