New York Lottery: Some crude probablistic analysis.
I started looking at it recently.
Any lottery where the jackpot is close to the odds is worth a look.
Generally, I would not play the NY Lotto, since it gives a low return. With a lot of rollovers though, it's worth it. I have some tickets for Wednesday and Saturday, since I believe there is a pretty fair probability that there will be two rollovers. This does not mean that there will be a rollover, but there is a very good chance of it.
Normally I would not play NY if MM or P

$90 Million: California lottery jackpot raised again
One day after the California SuperLotto Plus jackpot rolled to $89 million, California lottery officials raised it by another $1 million.
California lottery jackpots are guaranteed amounts, so the raised amount can only be due to actual sales exceeding expectations.
The new guaranteed California SuperLotto Plus jackpot for the Wednesday, June 28, 2006 drawing is $90 million.
Lottery players throughout California are buying tickets at a rapid pace for the largest SuperLotto Plus jackpot

State lotteries and us, the players.
I don't like calling people stupid but tell me something justxploring: Which one shows someone not been smart.
Why play a pick10 from 1 to 80 and knowing that the jackpot is not even 6% of a game that is available in your state (NY) (megamillions NY Lotto) and that the second prize pays in mega millions pays 250,000 and as it is right now in NY lotto pays 100,000...If you can't match 6 number you can match 5...
Why will you play NY pick10 (don't know if is keno) when you know that if you m

Ohio RC5 and MM reset to minimum
Now that both Ohio Rolling Cash5 and MegaMillions has reset to their minimum jackpots, I'm temporarily not playing. Instead I'm using the time to work on my system for picking combinations to be ready when the jackpots are bigger. I'm starting to think I may have to start gambling for real and start playing more than 10-15 lines. I'm experimenting with RC5 first by using some different parameters for my RNG. Its picking combinations that had matched three 4-7 times in past drawings, match tw

$100 worth of tickets from 4 different states
I always get some foreign tix when I travel.
Maybe I think the change of scenery will bring me luck or something..
My favorite scratchers are in SC, so I get me some of them at least weekly, as I'm less than 20 miles from there. My favorite game is Carolina 5. The jackpot is $100,000 taxes paid.
In addition, the SC lottery website keeps a very close watch on remaining jackpots out there, which I also appreciate.

Committment To Playing Lotteries
I've been playing the lottery for about 30 years, starting in MA NH and regularly in FL for over 10. NH had the first lottery I can remember (we called it the NH Sweepstakes) and then MA had a Wed night drawing. It cost 50 cents for a lottery ticket then and they called it The Game. My friend's Mom was one of the first winners in 1972. She won $50,000.
Mega Millions in MA 25 years ago? I remember MegaBucks in the early 1980s. It started out as a 6/30 game with a minimum $400,000 jackpot.

Does anyone know a website that reports cash values?
Thanks everyone.
I already know the MM and PB jackpots, since I can calculate them from the sales information on .
I was looking for the info for the more obscure state lotteries, particulary my own state, NJ, and NY.
But it's no biggie.
Thanks.

UK online lottery company fizzles
Editor: Lottery Post previously reported that the creators of this 'alternative' UK lottery had allegedly enriched themselves more than the charities the lottery is supposed to support.
Are the owners squeezing out the profits and then leaving the company and its stockholders in the lurch?
It started out as a small but brazen challenger to the national lottery, hoping to capitalize on a stream of damaging stories that have caricatured many of the good causes benefiting from lottery cas

The Meaning of Random Drawing
Random = (1) when state lotteries use machines that can be tweaked and adjusted while still delivering X amount of balls per draw as flawlessly as possible + (2) state lotteries rotate as many ballsets as they can justify using which do not escape number behaviors such as skips and number affinities + (3) conducting pre and post draw ballset tests for X amount of times before each draw + (4) retiring one or more of those ballsets periodically = Random.
The most random draw seems
