mmx1, thanks for the correction and the re-wording. I am more interested in basics, I am not good in explaining my thoughts sometimes, but what you did exemplify the spirit of a forum. Basics is posing questions, assuming an ideal within the context a selected game. Saying a digit repeat x% the next draw is purely observational, every digit has the same chance on every draw. I like and love statistics, not just crunching percentiles , but the IDEAL BEHIND--what is meaning of 80% of a parameter,

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Have to agree with you. The Scratchers 2nd Chance end of game jackpot is a life changing amount, at least the biggest ones (I'm thinking $750K or bigger). Losing the chance (albeit a small chance) of wining that pot of gold at end of the rainbow is a bit of a downer. Even winning 2 100K jackpots is not the same.
I enter every ticket. Along with the end of game jackpot -- admittedly a $50 winner ain't going to be that life changer jackpot -- one gets an entry into a $20K drawing. Still not a l

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Realistically what kinds of odds can one expect in a game where a dollar or two will buy you a chance to win up to a half billion dollars?
Lottery players don't even need much of a mathematical background to find the game odds on a state lottery website or or on the back of a play slip to understand winning a jackpot is very difficult at best. The next question should be knowing that why do so many people try to win and the answers is obvious; there is 1 behind the eight or nine digit numbe

Hot Lotto Changes
snip Besides the changes others have mentioned in this post it's interesting to note that the overall odds of the game are barely changing despite the addition of the extra white balls.
Maybe the overall odds are barely changing, but the JP odds are changing from 1:10,939,383 to 1:29,144,841 ... which means that it will be three times harder to win the JP ... that's kinda a big deal !!!
I'll give the new matrix a try. Depending on how well I do with the smaller prizes, I may have to find

Scientific Games wins Pennsylvania Lottery contract
Interesting article. Comes as no surprise that the cheapest would fair out in the PA Lottery. Let me rephrase that, perhaps not cheapest so much as most beneficial to upping the revenue retained and lessening the payouts to players by changing the provider and the game plans. Look for more numbers in Powerball and our good ole PA Match 6 and Cash 5 game. It will change and it wont be to keep current players but to thwart them away with the odds increasing.
I can guarantee that the glitches in

Texas Lottery chief may lose job over jackpot snafu
The Texas Lottery Commission's executive director may lose his job and six other employees may be reassigned following revelations that the agency inflated jackpot estimates, according to a posted agenda.Commissioners may meet in executive session July 11 to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of executive director Reagan Greer, the agenda posted Friday states. The notice also indicates the commission may discuss the reassignment of

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I think it is a cool gesture and shows the type of character Jackpotchasing is. Most people wouldn't even think to consider doing anything for strangers after hitting a large win. I don't consider you all strangers although I know some of you better than others; I consider many of you to be friends of mine just as I would consider someone I talk to in real life. In fact, I think I currently hold the record for meeting the most LP posters in real life as I've met about 7 people from this forum IR

my idea for a multi-state lottery
My idea is to have a game that costs $1.00. The buy 5, get one free is similar to promotions that lotteries run, but make this a permanent part of the game. For those who don't mind spending $5 on a progressive draw game, they get an extra chance to win.
$20 million isn't as much as hundreds of millions, but it's still life-changing. It's about the same as MM starting jackpot but without the absurdly low chances of winning. 1 in 18 million instead of 1 in 300 million. More frequent winners i

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
We have our pool tickets for the next Mega Millions draw. This time we got one ticket with a 5 times multiplier and one ticket with a 10 times multiplier. It is great getting the bigger multipliers but we need them to hit. We had a lot of larger multipliers in the previous draw but none of them hit.
I may be the only one on this site that likes the Mega Millions game. There is a simple reason why I like the game. It costs me very little to play and there is the potential to win a life chang

Texas Lottery says NJ group tried to buy another Lotto Texas jackpot
Oh, you mean changing the game to cap the jackpot. You might as well cancel the game at that point, because the newsflash is that lotto-style games make their profits (like in all gambling) during the peak times. If you delete the peaks, you delete the profits.
By peak times, I mean situations that convince non-regulars to buy a ticket. They don't do that unless the jackpot is through the roof.
Lotteries were created as a way to fund state programs. If they fail to do that, they won't ex
