Florida woman who lost $1 million lottery trial files for bankruptcy
Appears that Browning and his lawyer have found a way to kill this gal. We will soon probably hear about Poirier having a stroke or heart attack that killed her.
Why does Browning hate her so much. Sure, she left him, mainly by moving out. But Browning was dating or engaged to another women at the time. Plus, it was Poirier's inherited house that she let him continue to live in rent free. Ain't deep appreciation grand? Who needs enemies when one has such caring friends? I feel bad that the b

My husband's brother won the lottery but hasn't offered to help us out.
Do you REALLY think a lottery winner will be able to keep the news a secret from their family?
Depends on how close you are to your family.
If Warren Buffett's children could be duped enough that they didn't know their parents were multi-billionaires until they were older, I don't see any reason why a lottery winner wouldn't be able to keep that secret to him or her self. If the lotteries were anonymous, all a person would have to do is allude to a windfall to explain away an influx of

Sick mother accuses daughter of stealing $1 million lottery prize
Am I to believe her biggest worry was inheritance issues when she's living on disability?
It's very unlikely that she'll die with an estate that will be taxed, but she could easily die with a millions dollars of debt. Whatever her estate has, including any lottery winnings, will be used towards paying off the debt and there probably won't be anything left for any of the kids to inherit.
Not that that means her story is any more plausible.

Do you have to pay tax on a lottery win?
Are my winnings tax free?
National Lottery prizes are not chargeable gains for the purposes of UK Capital Gains Tax and will not normally be assessed for UK Income Tax. If a prize is won and shared by a syndicate who entered into a written agreement before the win, then syndicate members should not be liable to pay UK inheritance tax. However, please note that Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs law and practice may change. The above comments are based on our understanding of HM Revenue and Cus

You won it but do you think your kid should have to earn it??
Like the rest of you, I'd be concerned they'd turn into ne'er-do-wells. They'd get enough to pay for college without having to work. They could go as long as they wanted as long as they went full time, passed all their classes, and earned degrees at appropriate intervals. No dinking around.
The big chunk would be held in trust till they were at least 30, or until 5 years after their last payment for college -- so if they went for advanced degrees till they were say 28, they wouldn't get the

You won it but do you think your kid should have to earn it??
People appreciate money and things more if they work for them.
You don't do anybody a favor by giving them free stuff. You just make them lazier and more demanding.
Kids should be given any inheritance after they have made it on their own in life.

You just won 100 million dollars after taxes! Would you make her sign a pre-nup?
In Texas, any property owned prior to marriage would remain the owner's property in case of divorce, however I believe liquid assets are a different matter and would be split 50-50 (since Texas is a community property state) I voted staying single but yes, IF I got married, a pre-nup would be mandatory, particularly involving that much cash.

Did a little more reading and zipped back in here just in time to edit the post. The liquid assets are a little more complicated. I found

if you were a PB/MM winner but had children that were irresponsible with money...
Would you put their share of the money in a trust and let them draw a certain amount each month?
Give them an outright amount and in not so many words say this is your inheritance ..you use it badly, its Goodnight going forward.
Or hope for the best and that wealth may change their habits by including them in financial decisions you hope to implement?
** Have a Great Week People. .
