Hot Lotto multi-state lottery game to end in October
By Todd Northrop
Hot Lotto, a multi-state lottery draw game currently played in 14 states, will end this October. The final Hot Lotto drawing will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 28.
It is normal practice in the lottery industry to change your gaming mix and keep products fresh in the field. Based on overall performance after 15 years, it was time to make a change, West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. The 14 lotteries that offer Hot Lotto are working on new game options that w

My thoughts on the lottery
You mentioned playing the best game in my state instead of MM and PB. My states 6/49 game is Megabucks Doubler the one you mentioned. I don't like 6/49 games and even though the matrix has less numbers the only way to win a decent prize would be to win the jackpot buy getting all 6 numbers which like other jackpot games is impossible. You have to buy a season ticket for that game or you can't get the doubler for the other few prizes. There is Mass Cash the 5/35 game but you can't even win a priz

Ohio will be joining the Cash4Life game this Thursday
I just read a notice on the Ohio Lottery website that tickets can be brought for this Thursday drawing of Cash4Life, a multi-state game that's sold in several eastern states. It has a 5/48 +1/18 matrix and a $2 per ticket price. I suppose retailers will start putting out play slips for the game tomorrow.
If Ohio is interested in selling more of its Classic Lotto tickets, it may had to adjust its payouts closer to what other states are offering for their 6/49 games.

Lucky for Life Total Results
Decades of Dollars used to be a multi-state game but now is a Virginia only game. I just saw today that they are ending Decades and will be replacing it with Cash4Life. The last draw for Decades of Dollars is on April 30th and the new game starts May 3rd.
This makes me sad. I really enjoyed Decades and thought the odds were decent. I am sure the new game will be much less advantageous.

MM jackpot $47M/$36.1M and PB jackpot $50M/$33.3
PowerBall will change its matrix or its price before it ever disappeared and MM would have to consider if some states might ban together to create another $1 multi-state game if they ever abandon that market.
PowerBall wouldn't be the first $2 ticket game to fail and be replaced with a game closer to its older version. It happened in Ohio in 2007 when Lot'O Play was replaced by Classic Lotto a version of the 6/49 game it replaced a year earlier.

Mega Millions coming to North Dakota
The North Dakota Lottery Division is launching a new game in January.
The Mega Millions multi-state lottery game will be added to the selection of games already being played in North Dakota.
North Dakota Lottery Division Director Randy Miller says it's in the state's best interest to add the game to its current product mix. He's expects the state lottery division will see a $2 million increase in total sales by adding the Mega Millions to the lineup.
It will be an exciting time for the

I love big jack-pots
Believe it or not, some LP members have posted they never play the jackpot games, they prefer playing to win $50 with odds of 1:220 in a pick3 game than playing to win $5M+ with odds of 1:15M in a state game or $50M+ with odds of 1:135M in one of the multi-state games.
I prefer the jackpot games because it's a lot easier to earn $50 by working than it is to win it in a pick3 game while it's a lot easier to win $50M+ in a jackpot game than it is to earn it by working.

Tenn. lottery fans make fewer runs for the Kentucky border
Gene Dotson is something of a video-game-stool philosopher of luck.As a regular lottery player, the retiree from Nashville has good reason to think about these things.''Is there such a thing called luck?'' Dotson asked Tuesday, a twinkle in his eye and a cigarette between two fingers as he played a video poker game at a lottery outlet just north of the Tennessee-Kentucky line, 36 miles from home. ''Is it who you are? ''Why do people keep doing it? Why do I keep doing it?''Whatever the cosmic an

Mega Millions Lottery Disappoints, Officials Say
The whole point of the Mega Millions lottery was huge jackpots, headline jackpots, crowds-mobbing-the-gas-stations jackpots. But more than a year after the multi-state Mega Millions lottery was created, the top prizes haven't been the record-breakers organizers had hoped -- leaving the 10 member states still waiting for a lottery windfall to cushion falling tax revenues. You might call it a case of bad luck. The lottery grew out of the seven-state Big Game, which set an American record for a singl
