California Lottery settles lawsuits with two former security staff
Employees were fired for questioning two jackpot payouts The California State Lottery has paid more than $500,000 to settle lawsuits filed by two former investigators who claimed they were fired for calling attention to jackpots they believed the lottery improperly awarded to recipients who could not prove they were winners. The two ousted lottery cops had flagged a $2 million jackpot in 2015 and a $750,000 prize in 2016 that they argued should not have been paid. It was a travesty the

The man who won the lottery 14 times (part 1)
Just after 11 PM on February 15, 1992, a lottery ball machine at the Virginia State Lottery HQ spit out 6 winning numbers on live television: 8... 11... 13... 15... 19... 20. In the coming days, officials would find out that one person had secured not only the $27,036,142 jackpot, but 6 second prizes, 132 third prizes, and 135 minor prizes collectively worth another $900k. What unfolded next was the strangest, most improbable lottery tale in history one involving thousands of internation

Are the middle lotteries worth it?
When the Hot Lotto went to 1-47 I am thinking that it is not worth it. Here's some calculations I did and maybe Powerball and Mega Millions have a good spot to aim for, the 5 numbers. Getting the power ball along with the play is good. Perhaps the extra $1 is worth it. Who knows. Powerball: For 175,223,510 odds and starting jackpots at $40 million. $40 million / 175,223,510 is rounded to 23 cents payout per odd. $1 million / 5,153,633 is rounded = 19 cents.

Claiming Anonymously and keeping your winnings! (a paranoid approach)
Hi Everyone, I'm a Longtime LotteryPost reader, first time contributor. I've been visiting this site and Todd's USA Mega for at least 5 years, been playing the lotto a lot longer than that. This probably seems like a big pretentious first post, but I joined because I wanted to share some thoughts and info I've accumulated over the years, if you don't mind. This is an awesome community and I love hearing your thoughts and rhetoric over the forum topics here, so I'd love to share one more, if y

Cheated lottery winner files lawsuit
i agree with tabtastic, if these lazy beeps don't even want to check to see if they won, and waste the clerk time Checking losers, they should get off their lazy beep and sign the back the only time you don't sign the back when you hand your ticket to a owner human being and it leaves your view , is when winning a major jackpot, to form a trust to stay out of public eye only hand a ticket unsigned to a lawyer who claim it for you, and for god sakes get something like your iphone 4 out a

Multi-state lottery shockwave sweeping America
Lottery Post Exclusive By Todd Northrop Updated: Nov. 6, 2009, 11:28 a.m. Updated: Nov. 10, 2009, 11:21 p.m. In January 2010 the state lines that have been dividing the United States into Powerball states and Mega Millions states will be blurred by a cross-selling arrangement between the two multi-state lottery titans. But it was not an arrangement the country's biggest lotto games entered into easily or even willingly. The lines of division between America's two biggest multi

If you had a Pick3/15 in your state do you think you could win it??Not regular Pick3
There is a reason why i am asking this question...You see if you think you could win a Pick3/15 you will have cracked Pick4 all the time Straight not boxed...I am not talking about regular PIck3 i am talking about combination PIck3/15 not permutation Pick3/0-15... Here is how: Some old Pick4 drawings: You consider 0 as 10 when coverting them from permutation game to combination game.... Permutation PIck4= Combination Pick4 8103 = 8-9-19-22 1780 = 1-8-16-26 6565 = 6-11-17-22

The hidden Lotto millionaires
They have wealth beyond their wildest dreams but nobody knows. In the Irish province of Ulster some of the millionaires have made their identities known to the world, but most have not. They are the next door neighbors who hide the secret that they are millionaires. Some are scared their wealth will end lifelong friendships. And some worry that new found friends would be attracted by their money and nothing else. They are the National Lottery millionaires who go to amazing lengths to
