Is it a scam by a lottery to end the game when half of the top prize still available?
For the jackpots on scratcher games, especially on the more expensive tickets ($5 and up) definitely misleading.
At least with PB, MM, Lotto, P3/P4 etc, you've got a chance to win the jackpot prize (albeit remote) on every draw/ticket you purchase.
With scratchers, that Jackpot ticket (s) may not even be available for purchase anywhere in the state for long stretches of time, so your odds are ZERO.
It's even worse when they pull a game with lots of top prizes remaining. In that case, yo

Mega Millions / Powerball Merge
Do you think a merger between Powerball and Mega Millions will happen?
With both jackpots getting hit so often it's time to make a merger or some changes.
What may work would be to use the Mega Millions matrix 5/75 and 1/15 but, make each ticket $2 instead $1 and make
the drawing 3 times a week M-W-SAT. and the jackpot would start at $40-$50 million.
Payouts would be adjusted to match the ticket increase.
You could call it Mega Powerball and then the regular Powerball wou

$12M Texas Lottery jackpot set to expire Monday
If the $12 M is not claimed ,why would a lottery official say , prize money could soon be gone with the wind when they know it will revert back to the state?
Never thought that The State can actually be the winner of a big Jackpot, but indeed they are!
The choice of words were poor and implies that the state will blow it away on a worthwhile cause .
Yup, it will be gone with the wind for the winner, who fails to claim it in time.
Frustrating to read stories about expiring jackpots b

NY Sweet Millions
Although I haven't posted regularly here for a long time, I was thinking about you guys today when I purchased my one Mega Millions ticket for tonight, because I read on the lottery screen at Stu Leonard's that Sweet Million will be gone next month..sob..sob! I started this thread and I will miss trying to win this game. I have been playing the same six numbers on one ticket since the game started, I won about $100 each year on that number combination, I figured out how many times I hit three or

Do you like/dislike Gail Howards Advantage Plus program and why?
One can excuse their software not winning jackpots every week due to the high odds. When your predictor doesn't work for Pick-3/4 . . .
See, you actually have to know how to win to write software to automate the process.
Generating graphs and such may prove useful to some, to trigger their brain into action. For the rest of us they are simply fluff we pass by on the way to the predictor.
While I've never regretted buying the GH software and fire it up to check ideas, one needs

Post your scratch ticket results
I have a theory on how winners are distributed on scratch offs.
If you were the seller (The State or its Agent), How can you make sure you sell the whole lot or as much as possible even after the major prizes have already been won ?
My answer is to make sure each retailer gets a steady amount of the lesser prizes. To do this, the mix of winning rolls vs. losing rolls are such that there is at least 1 roll per order that is absolutely brutal and painful in terms of losers.
My guess is f

Why is the Ohio Classic Lotto so difficult to win?
At long last you admitted something that l AGREE with.... We Always Assuming - so by your own admission, you cannot claim the high ground on this issue because you assuming , your snot comment notwithstanding.
For instance Pennsylvania has a pop of 12.7- yet we find them winning jackpots.
Ohio has a pop of 11.5 and l think they have won either MM/PB as well- my point is and always has been why not win your own State Lottery? - in this case Ohio's.

Powerball Power Play Number Almost Always 2 ?
I've never seen a lottery that had a number frequency matching its odds of appearance exactly. Randomness keeps this from happening. As such anything is game for the short run.....streaks, skips, whatever.
We did not say the frequency would match exactly. If we did, show it by quote.
The rest of this is just fluff to confuse the issue of odds.
There's only been 26 draws of Power Play and you already believe it's rigged/bogus/biased....despite me providing statistical evidence to th

Missouri Pick 4 2013
Liability Limits
Two Missouri Lottery games - Pick 3 and Pick 4 - have liability limits, meaning players may be denied the purchase of numbers when a certain number of tickets with a particular combination have been sold. Liability limits have been placed on these games to keep the Lottery from selling more winning tickets than it can pay. The liability limit is $2 million for Pick 3 and $2 million for Pick 4. Setting liability limits is standard in the lottery industry on games with fixed pa

Illinois Lottery mulling changes to drawings
No live drawings and computer generated winning numbers seem to take out some of the excitement of the game.
Come to think of it, have not seen a live drawing of the N.J. lottery in a long while.Doubt that has hurt the lottery sales as the jackpots grow aggressively from drawing to drawing. The N.J. Pick 5 Game from last night (4/15/14) paid out $71,631. The jackpot started out at $50K and grew over $21k by the time of the drawings, later in the evening.
Illinois' decision to change the
