Is it immoral to work if you've won enough to not work?
markp1950,
In your post that I questioned you quoted haymaker and I talking about an archived thread that really didn;t have a thing to do with your reposnse to it.
I think you just quoted the wrong post.
C'est la vie.
PS,
I can't wait to see you post this in a thread about jackpots:
I don't need much more to live better.

$257 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot expands
You've honed in on the correct issue: what is the frequency of jackpot wins with the new MM?
That's really what's at stake when they come up with a new lotto game: based on the expected customer base, what the frequency of jackpot wins will be.
Old MM did about $20M sales per draw average during non-frenzy periods. The new MM so far looks to be about the same, no major dropoff in sales with the new matrix. That comes to about $2 Billion per year, and you divide that by the odds on the JP a

Just had a new thought about Mega millions
bigbear29, I see what you mean. People do not know what combinations other people picked, so by logic people tend to think sort of the same way when picking, because of it lots of combinations are repeated combinations. There is an ocean of combinations not picked at all. That is why there are jackpots where no one picked the winning combination. On rare occasion there are more than 1 or 2 winners. Why 1 or 2 winners is most usual outcome of a biggets jackpot? It could be because the odds are so

Lottery winnings
Well I don't play much the small win type games
I just buy a few for the big ones...figure if I'm gonna get lucky I'd want a lot of it an to win the bigger jackpots.
I'm not trying to win just to have extra spendin moonay, I need/want to win an amount I don't have to require a 'job' to get money.
I...play some slots every, so often...rarely actualy an might make about $100-250 profit

$189 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot rolls again
The near destruction of the Megamillions game because of the $2 Powerball ticket - and the resulting jackpot fatigue - has certainly reduced the overall sales increase figures for the state lotteries, and, I think, may end up with them spinning their wheels.
There is no reason that the new matrix should be any better. There isn't a real increase in the $12 million starting jackpot, since it's merely being masked by changing the annuity scheme from 26 years to 30 years. What we might see is it

Illinois Lottery kicks off new 'Hit or Miss' game
LottoMetro,
I certainly hope the Illinois lottery gets enough complaints but the only game I've ever seen go by the wayside was a scratcher they had in Spanish format called Loteria. The objects to be scratcher were beans and it was very confusing. A local gas station owner told the lottery guy to keep them, he didn't want them in his store - caused too many questions.
Stack mentioned 'back in the day' when the stated offered Pick 3 and 4, lotto, and scratchers. Heck, I feel for Todd as so

Having multiple dreams of winning.
I don' think I ever had a dream before that I won. But in the past couple of months I've been having more than one.
The first one was sort of strange. I saw myself in a car with the family from Married With Children. And I saw that I was holding a winning ticket. It didn't say how much I won. I just vaguely remembered being excited that I won. Also I know I was watching that same show on TV that afternoon.
The second dream was at a slot machine, and I saw the coins just come flushing out.

Salon lottery winners settle dispute
I make copies at work and pass them out at work,
According to the one who bought the ticket, they did know which tickets were part of the pool. All the circumstances surrounding this story are weird and it includes the settlement.
Had that woman brought her winning ticket to the Hoosier Lottery headquarters, she would have claimed her money no questions asked. Instead, she went to the salon first and told them their pool didn't win, but she did. That's when they decided to file a court

Texas Lottery to double number of Pick 3 and Pick 4 draws
rcbuckeye,
When it changes, whenever I play it will be for the next draw. If I want to play multiple draws it will have to be consecutive draws instead of multiple day draws or multiple night draws.
That's exactly what Illinois did with Lucky Day Lotto (Pick 5/39). The Pick 3 and 4 playslips have options of Midday, Evening, or Both but the Pick 5 is just as you stated above. Since they added the Mid-day draw $300,000 and $400,000 jackpots are showing up more frequently so I would guess a
