How Sad
The current Michigan Classic 47 has been around for 8 years and the news on the Michigan lottery web site says that if the Jackpot rolls Saturday it will be the 3rd largest for Classic 47.
1. 2008 23.5 million
2. 2009 18.5 million
3. 2013 13.3 million (if it rolls)
8 years of rotten jackpots and slow rolls.
The current run has taken 6 months to get this high.
Come on! Classic 47 is several years overdue for a revamp!

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
There are, of course, several ways to play the new matrix.
My method is to take out the multiplier. I am sure that I am not the only one who thought of this.
For the current game that will cost you $44 for true 3.8 million to one odds at the jackpot ($46 less the $2 rebate)
For the new game that is $14 for true 18 million to one odds ($15 less the $1 rebate)
This, of course means that I will have to be more disciplined and wait for the high Jackpots that this game is desi

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Increasing the jackpot odds by an astonishing 83 million from 175,711,536 to 258,890,850? LOL
Everyone we know plays for the jackpot not the lower tier prizes, so it doesn t matter what the overall odds will be.
Before these changes the jackpot odds were already ridiculously long. We seldom played the game and we've never won anything.
Now with the odds being 83 million longer, it doesn t matter how big the jackpots get. They can keep it because we absolutely will not play. Greed has g

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
garyo1954,
You've been posting here long enough to have observed that randomness provides an abundance of evidence that jackpots can be won without systematic methods. Note, for example, the fact that the overwhelming majority of the winners buy QuickPicks.
And, of course, you must be aware that philosophically, and logically, the onus is on you and all the others who believe in systems to prove that they have efficacy over reasonable periods of time and at acceptable Confidence Levels.

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Stack47,
Nobody cares, Jimmy. Really.
Are you sure?
If anyone looks above, don't you think they might notice how much YOU care?
Now, why don't you, Garyo1954, and Ronnie316 transfer some of the energy you waste trying to discredit me and other mathematicians to the task of PROVING that past lottery draws can be used to increase your chances of winning jackpots? In other words, [try to] PROVE that the Gambler's Fallacy is not really a fallacy after all. If you can do it, you'll bec

Take5 NY
I've no recollection of the story at all. I remember higher jackpots just 4 years ago. Friday nite used to be good for over 100G's (100 to 105 was typical.) Not any more. Even with the current promotion they dont get north of 100G. Dont ask me where all the T5 players went. I aint got a clue.
I too have been playing T5 since 1992, but from '92 to 2009 I didnt play regularly like I do now. I'd play here and there, and I didnt pay any attention to numbers or track them etc. Prior to T5, I'd pla

What are the chances that a person be at the right place at the right time to win a jackpot?
It can't be sensational if they let a bunch of people win bigger prizes..the bait is the large jackpot and the
slogan: it can happen to you...emphasis on 'you'.
If they started giving bigger prizes to people or splitting an awesome jackpot 30 ways, the lure of big money
for a buck or two becomes ho hum when you can only win a couple million instead of $300M all by yourself.
I think it would be a good idea to spread the wealth and have often thought big jackpots going to just one pers

Texas Lottery suspends sales for 'All or Nothing' game
If people picked their 12 numbers randomly averaging more than 1 winner for every 1.35 million tickets sold would be very unusual, but not all people pick random combinations.
It's unlikely even in the 5/39 games with a fixed jackpot that very many players will play the same combination twice so the lottery doesn't assume they will have extra multiple jackpot and secondary prize winners. In this game, mathematically there is no difference between betting the same combo twice and playing one

Texas Alert: All Or Nothing Players...
It's all about hiding another bobblehead move by the TLC. Exceutive Director Gary Grief says they will take any and all necessary steps to protect the financial interests of the State of Texas.
What that means is: We're LOSING MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
He goes on to say in the first 8 months this game has generated 62.5 million in sales with 36.7 million paid out to winners. (Since the players share is set at 50%, and TLC is paying out MORE THAN 50%, he means to say, you guys are taking more than
