Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
I'm not a regular lottery player. I'll buy a few tickets for high jackpots such as the recent MM and PB drawings. I typically don't bother playing a few lines unti the $100 million mark. Having said that; I think the new 5/75 + 1/15 format will keep me from playing - even at $100 million and up draws.
Reason being: Matching 5/56 is snip near impossible; adding 19 more numbers to pick from is overkill. Pretty negligent.
I play to win the 5+1 prize. The new format would make my few dollars p

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
I mean when you think about it odds dont matter at a certain point. If its your time ... ITS YOUR TIME.
People complained about PB $2 change till no end but then when they saw its potential they hopped right on the bandwagon. Everyone was saying Im moving to the MEGA MILLIONS now...WELL LOOK AT PB TODAY!! Hitting two of the highest payouts in LOttery History.
I do have one complaint about this system and that is people are only going to play one ticket at a time or maybe 2 when before they

Should a winning system be posted on the LP?
Stack
I laughed when I read the post above. If that were the case everytime someone won with a SP there would
be hundreds of people tring to get a share. The big jackpots seem to bring out the nut's so I guess it might
happen but I doubt they would have much of a case. Hey, he played two odd and three even numbers. He
used my system.

if you had the power to change certain things to the MM/ PB jackpots- what would they be?
OK I SAY THEY BETTER CHANGE AS FOLLOWS:
Ehh Would it matter if the lottery just released the name of the Jackpot winner? I'd say only the lottery can release the name as in you had to actualy go to the website to see it if you wanted. As in the media was not allowed to report it either. But...will that work? ha ofcourse the state aswell. I think the lottery is right on saying it helps that people know someone (whether true or not whatever) won. No state or Lottery can force photo or conferen

Economic Crash - What Would Happen to My Winnings?
I've been giving this lots of thought. I did a brief look around on LP and didn't see any related threads.
My questions:
1. If I won a major prize, how should I 'crash proof' it? Can a lottery prize be 'crash proofed'?
2. If I made no attempt to protect my winnings from a major economic crash then what is the likely scenario? Everything disappears?
In light of the recent, major multistate jackpots.
I see where Canada recently passed legislation apparently approving confiscat

OnlyMoney,
Like I said to another person here on LP. Just because you, I and the masses haven't figured it out does not mean the system doesn't exist.

What's the best lotto book?
With all due respect- there is no best book when it comes to the lottery. All it is is an analysis of what the author thinks is the best in their opinion. The Lottery is a game of CHANCE.No amount of math or pouring over tea leaves or reading charts can help you beat the odds. Every ticket that is purchased has the SAME chance of coming up a winner as anyone else's.If a method to winning the lottery did exist, State lotteries would function at a lose on every draw and eventually close down. Would you consider moving to a State that produces multiple MM/ PB winners if yours is a dry well?
rdgrnr,
Good point on triggering Murhpy's Law and the lines......Mad Magazine once did a page on wrong waiting line insurance.
noise-gate,
Both the PB and MM websites say that there are approximately 12 to 15 jackpots paid out a year. With an average of 104 drawings a year to make a move expecting it to result in winning a jackpot is and extreme example of presuming something.

Cali Powerball players: How much wagering for first draw?
Oh Ridge:That a load of you know what. Tis not California's fault that the other States did not win the JP now that its at $60 mil, they had their chance and did not. Hey, those other States had the PB for decades and Californians as a whole were left with MM and other less jackpots to feed off- plus there is no gaurantee that Cal will win the first, second or third one.Come to think of it ridge...
How about those folk who rarely ever play, who wait for the JP to reach $250- $300 mil plus and

Do you see PB jackpots of $300 mil plus a fluke going forward with California joining in soon?
The more tickets they sell the more repeats there are.
If that's true, why were there only three jackpot winners when 652 million tickets were sold for the March 30, 2012 MM drawing and why don't we see very many jackpots with multiple winners?
If all combinations were picked randomly, once 10% of the combinations had been played we would expect 1 in 10 tickets sold to repeat a combination that had already been used.
Why would a state like Rhode Island take a chance on having multip
