Why do you play the lottery?
I like to gamble a little myself - okay, maybe a little more than a little, too... But, if you're feeling it's becoming a problem you can call 1-800-GAMBLER - their some nice folks that will attempt to help you... I digress, My vote goes to Financial Security first helping others 2nd... Good Luck m8, Pogo

Interesting Powerball fact discoveries
I have to disagree, no ball set is perfect from defects, therefore if you knew each ball ser and when they were going to draw and finally recorded what balls came up, you would start to see a pattern for each ball set... The real reason they use multiple ball sets and multiple machines for that matter is to make the draws random not for security purposes - Not to hurt anyone's feelings, Pogo

Why is it beneficial to collect a lottery jackpot as a LLC?
Wow that was a depressing read. I think if Texas had the same rules, I would go to the press conference wearing a Richard Nixon mask, with a t-shirt with something naughty written on it. I get the feeling if your Social Security number wasn't protected by law they would release that as well.

$180 Million Lottery Winners: 'We Want A Regular Life'
If you want a regular life don't play a $180 milllion dollar jackpot. Also if you continue to live just a plain regular life, you are a waste of such a large jackpot. Use the opportunity to do things no one else ever could dream of. It is always these unprepared types that don't need anything who win. It is pretty easy to say that the money does not matter after you obtain so much and have such a huge security blanket.

Win or loose I play lotto!
Okay, Prisoner Six. In the Welcome to the Louisiana player Sassydiva, I asked if you were a resident at Angola. But then your qoute indicates you might be a security officer or classification officer or other staff member or a former resident. None of my business, but I was just curious. I used to read copies of the Angolite and wondered if they would ever publish an online edition.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy freedom
I think that winning a large jackpot can buy security and a certain amount of freedom which can lead to happiness. It would allow me to retire and allow my mother to retire and not have to worry about bills or medical expenses or things such as that. It would also allow my family and I to travel and get the things that we've always wanted.

Went public too soon?
As much as it would be nice showing off a ticket would guarantee no one would take it from you, that's just not how it works. Regardless of the number of the people you show the ticket to, the ticket must STILL undergo the same security procedures as any other ticket. They don't have to take the ticket because they want the money, they might take because they don't want YOU to have the money. The lottery doesn't care if you have a million people saying you had the ticket, you better have it when

-Mediocrity Winners-
Hey Coin You took the words right out of my mouth. Winning the lottery would give me security when working is no longer an option. The money I use for lottery now would go to nothing that would impact my life, maybe fast food or a dvd or something just as silly. As they say, all it takes is a dollar and a dream. Sure I have a minor 401k like the rest of the world but it's not enough to give me the security that a lottery winfall would. I remember someone posting earlier ( sorry

Went public too soon?
Okay, I agree congrats, but I also agree that the safety and security would have been foremost on my book and the lawyer because would have taken the first precaution of getting the phone cutoff and staging the family in a different location. I think that Mr. Whitaker was an good example of what not to do when you win a large sum of money like that.

Three men charged with stealing $1M from lottery winner
He kept a million dollars in a safe in his home? I don't think I would keep that much money in my home unless I had excellent security.
