A message worth $2.825 million
A message worth $2.825 million awaits a registered lottery player who purchased their lottery ticket in Campsie. The lucky winner has picked up the jackpot prize in $2 Jackpot Lottery draw 8835 with ticket number 117042 in this mornings draw. We have tried to contact the winner by telephone and received their voice answering machine. Unfortunately we are unable to reveal we are calling from NSW Lotteries until we can verify we are speaking to the actual winner this ensures we keep the

When do you buy your QP's?
Yes, but I don't think there is a strict rule enforcing it. For example, many stores that sell tickets close at 9:00 or earlier. Some stores are closed on Sundays, yet you can still buy a lottery ticket here on Sunday. I've been at a ticket counter when the store is still doing business, but the lottery terminal is down for the evening. There is nothing on the back of the ticket that indicates times to purchase a ticket. However, as you indicated above, the schedule for the drawings is poste

LP Member's Observations / "Laws of Lotto"
MegaWinner's Law of The Truth About Lottery Odds is they forgot to tell you about probability! MegaWinner's Law of Odds, Scmodds : Every ticket is a chance to win regardless of odds or probability! MegaWinner's Law of Opposites : That lottery machine is actually trying to match my ticket since I picked my numbers first, not the other way around lol!

lotto gender...:who has better odds?
Pumpi As Surge pointed out, more men gamble (although the number of female gamblers is increasing all the time), thus a man is more likely to hit, but no playslip cares about the gender of who fills it out, no lottery terminal cares about the gender of the person playing the ticket, etc...... It's not like a clerk is going to run a ticket and the machine is going to stop and say: CANNOT BE RUN. PLAYER IS FEMALE. TRY AGAIN.

Are QuickPicks a waste?
I voted no because I am of the opinion that every set of numbers has the same chance as any other set of numbers. I live by the theory that each number drawn is not influenced by previous numbers drawn. This means (for PB) that you have a 5 in 55 chance of matching the first number. Then for the second number, you have a 5 in 54 chance of matching that number; unless you hit the first number then your chances are 4 in 54. The machine that is used to select the balls cannot read English w

% of Lottery Players That Make a Profit
I guessed 1% before I even read the other posts. I wanted to check 3% (trying to be a little more optimistic!) but I see lots of people sitting on the benches outside of the markets scratching their tickets, and then they scratch their heads in frustration. Rarely do I see someone walking away with a wad of cash, although I have seen winners at the counter. Last week a woman handed a lottery ticket to a clerk and got $75. That's happened to me too, but only 3 times in over 12 years! So when

Dowsing for winning Scratch Tickets
I buy my tickets at the same couple of places, usually on my way to work. Same 'regulars' in there all the time. Everyone has there own method ; one woman likes tickets that have a lot of red in them, one guy goes for any game based on 7's, some folks like the ones based on a deck of cards, and so forth. If the clerk doesn't mind you standing there for a few minutes it's as good a method as any. In VA there are two ways to buy-from the counter and vending machines., so dowsing would be a pro

Dowsing for winning Scratch Tickets
jusme Not nay-saying the dowsing or such things, but since all you can see is the top ticket available in a counter or vending machine, I find this to be a bit of a reach, unless you mean the type of ticket and not a specific individual ticket. Since tickets are often sold in convenience marts it would be no surprise if a store manager saw someone just hanging around the ticket display and figured they were up to no good, as Bazooka Joe mentioned.

Defrauded lottery winner finally gets apology -- and money
In Indiana you have to hand your ticket to a clerk to be checked unlike Illinois which has a ticket scanner seperate from the draw machine for everyone to use.

Nevada Lottery
The way I understand it though, Powerbll sellers getting NOTHING from selling a losing ticket. And they only get a stipend if they sell a jackpt winner. The profit to the casinos in selling a jackpot winner is going to be very seldom (remember the odds don't change just because you're a casino) And ever dollar that buys a Powerball ticket from a casino is one LESS dollar that goes into a slot machine. And the slots are where every casino REALLY rakes in the dough ! They can afford to return
