Jackpot code on scratch tickets
I'd never heard that the big winners have losing codes on them...figures...I've probably thrown away a couple of jackpots over the years!
I wonder if the codes are the same in all states? Are all scratchers produced by the same company?
The most I have won has been $500. IIRC the code was
F H R
I've won $350, that code was F R E.
Last St. Pat's Day weekend I played three days in a row; on Friday I won $100, on Saturday I won $50 and on Sunday I won $500....and I'm not even Irish

What has happened here?
I was just nosing around the forums here trying to find an appropriate place to discuss the relationship between keno games and pick 3 and 4, involving matters not precisely metaphysical, but not mainstream science.
It doesn't fit in Mystical, and nobody over there is much into taking the hocus pocus out of astrology. It doesn't fit in Mathmatics because it ain't math. It doesn't fit in Lottery Systems, because it ain't yet a system. It doesn't fit in Jackpots, because that's all mainly

Do you really think you have better odds?
I realize it only takes one ticket, but my system has always been the more you play, the more chances you have to win. Most systems I read about suggest many combinations for the same play, so that would require lots of dough every week. So if it works, great. If it doesn't, there goes the grocery money. When I was in Vegas many years ago, a regular Blackjack player told me to double my bet the next hand after I lost. I suppose if you had unlimited money to gamble, eventually you might get your

Iowa Lottery sales jump 60% in last 12 months
Iowa Lottery sales more than doubled in the last 12 months according to a report released today, fueled in large part by those now-silent TouchPlay machines.
The Iowa Lottery recorded a 60 percent increase in sales of its products over the 12-month state fiscal year that began July 1st, 2005 and ended on June 30th of this year. TouchPlay machines were shut down on May 4th. But during their last 11 months of operation, those TouchPlay machines yielded $121.4 million in revenue for the state-ru

Tenn. lottery sales up 18 percent since last year
More than $270 million for scholarships, after-school projects
The Tennessee Lottery saw an 18 percent increase in sales for its fiscal year ending in June, propelled upward in part by 36 new scratch-off games and two Powerball jackpots topping $300 million, according to lottery president and chief executive officer Rebecca Paul.
Net sales, which do not include tickets given out as prizes, rose 18 percent to $933.4 million, up from $788 million during the year prior.
It's been a great

How much proof does it require to convince wager buffs that there are system's available to assist in sensible wagering practice's that can genuinely lead to success?
One jackpot. One did is better than 10,000 coulds (or in the case of lottery jackpots, millions of coulds ).
That was my point. We can extrapolate, look for trends, patterns, etc...etc... ad nauseam (and we do!), but let a member of the board say, I just didn't have time to work out my numbers so I

Best state lottery website
This is a very good question, and yes, I have been to them all.
I have not found that any one site is perfect. I'll provide some examples:
California has good information about games, winners, and prize amounts, but does not have any good way to contact them, they are a little slow posting new jackpots and prizes, and too few press releases.Florida has very good pre-draw info and specified exactly what machines and ballsets were used, and they post the draw info very quickly, but they hav

The Truth Behind the Numbers
Those jackpots would certainly grow a lot more quickly, though, if we'd all buy a hundred or so tickets, each one cutting the odds in half.
A person always wonders where this kind of thinking began..... likely it didn't leave a trail.
But I'd put it along the lines of splitting Aces looking at a dealer 10, knowing you get no opportunity for another card, knowing you've got twice the money on the table and the world ain't looking better than it would have if you'd hit them, necessarily.

New York Lottery: Some crude probablistic analysis.
I play, very modestly, local lotteries, when their expectation values, pre-tax, get to around 0.4. I calculate the pretax expectation value, the ratio of the potential cash prize(s) to the odds of winning, for lotteries in which I have interest using the same mathematics that I use for the MM and PB posts I make here.
I will not drive a significant distance for a lottery unless the expectation value is greater than 0.9.
The odds for PB and MM lotteries are so long that their jackpots wou
