"Taping" in advance & Conspiracy Theories
I shouldn't post before having my morning caffeine... did I say Powerball had on average 500,000 players? That's closer to the number of average prize winners... I emailed MUSL to ask for average sales. They said it varies from drawing to drawing anywhere from 12 million to 200 million tickets, and around 2 billion a year. Going back to a birthdayish problem scenario and trying to see when given 'n' random picks (including the pick the machine makes), what are the odds of there being a match to

I hit 4+0 in Mega Millions tonight!
Check out my winning ticket from Mega Millions on Friday! The drawing results were 08-17-25-28-53 + 01; check out the middle line. Also, check out where the missing #28 is! (One number away from $250,000, oh well.) Interesting also is the groupings of numbers, showing that the QP generator in the NJ lottery machine is not all that good. Getting a 3+0 and a 4+0 on one ticket defies the odds, yet here it is. Right now I'm loving that faulty Quick Pick RNG!

Faulty ticket
I often play the 5 or 8 series draws for the Maryland Lotto and the Megamillions. This saves me from traveling there but for twice a month. Most often I hit between 4 and 10$ worth so I wait and cash them when I am down that way. This time the clerk handed my winning number tickets back saying sorry but my machine cant read them ( the bar code wasnt reading it). So I asked him to manually check. Which he did. He said Yes they are winning numbers, BUT I cant issue you a winning payout since i

Man let lottery winner go first
If you do not understand how the lottery machines operate than naturally you would think , if you let someone in front of you and they win big, it would have been you had you not done that, HOWEVER as several others have explained , the machines are all connected so there is only one chance in a hundred million that if you did not let someone in front of you that you would have pulled up the same numbers! So the timing of the machine is kind of like it's own lottery in itself! Chances are (1 i

trashed tickets
if it is a six # game. It is hard to recognize a winning ticket just by looking.. I drop them all in the machine. The screen on both sides will tell if it is a winning ticket or not..As for scratch offs, I know whether they are winners are not, because I learn the new games as they come in...Down the road where I work, there is a Chevron. My son - in - law went to work there. He witnessed (by video) a clerk there telling a customer his ticket was not a winner. IT was PB.. and then the next da

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Inexperienced in the conept of reality...I see. You know what reality is? Reality is random. You waking up one morning, deciding to buy a lottery ticket that has a computerized outcome seems pretty random, especially when you could have randomly broke your toe or randomly decided not to buy a ticket. The essence of reality is a random entity in of itself. So don't tell me I'm inexperience with reality. If you call scuffing, gravity, dents, weight, people constantly picking them up inspecting them

Pair will testify against former Hoosier Lottery official
Howdy All,We had a game here in MO that was very short lived. It was called Xtra It was an online game. You would buy a ticket online and then the machine would hesitate and then print out your ticket. It would play the tune We're in the money if you won. There was no mention on the MO website that this was a fixed game. How I knew there was something fishy was the fact you could pick your own numbers just like any normal Pick 3 and then you paid an extra buck for the chance at this Xtra gam

Lottery ticket plucked from trash wins $100,000
> If I drop $100,000 in the street and walk away and the next person picks it up, it's their money, Ellen Corcella, the lottery's security director, said Wednesday.Saying this is disingenuous at best, or a complete lie to distort the situation. If the person had their ticket read correctly and then got a check for $100,000, then cashed that check, then had $100,000 cash, then dropped that money in the street where it was found by someone else who took it never to return it, then what she say
