Are PB players switching now to MM to create the next Billion dollar JP?
YES! Exactly my thinking! I will keep playing both! - - - - - As for the billion dollar mark being reached again, for either PB or MM, isn't anything I am waiting for. Any million(s) is more millions than I have now! My plans wouldn't change too much if I were to win $50M or $250M. I'd rather see jackpots won more frequently and spread all that wealth around. For me The more, the merrier means the more winners, the merrier! Could MM have the next billion dollar jackpot? I

New to Scratch-off games, had some questions
1) Most states have a roughly 50% rate of return on scratch-off tickets. Some people here will tell you it's better to play the pick 4 or 5 drawing games, etc. It all depends on what you want. The pick 4 games will have better lower tier payouts, but the money is not life-changing so I don't care to spend the money. I play $10 to $20 scratch-off tickets because I hope that if all the stars align properly, I can hit one of the $1M or $2M prizes which would be life changing money. Although the lot

How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
I never said it was the draw directly before this one. I was referring to the draw of Jan 30 where the annuity jackpot was increased from $75 mil to $96 mil. 96 75 = 1.28 hence the increase of 28% 112 96 = 1.167 (16.7%) 136 112 = 1.2143 (21.43%) 157 136 = 1.1544 (15.44%) 176 157 = 1.1210 (12.10%) On the average, the past few drawing have increased between 12% - 21% Using approx 15.33% as a median increase.... the annuity jackpot will reach $1 bil in approx 12 - 13 draws (

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
So many experts on here giving legal advice when they don't do it for a living, and all the brash assumptions that the lawyer is going to bleed them dry etc. Back in the day, people got all sorts of legal and financial information from their long distance truck driving brother-in-laws, but thankfully times have changed. I've noticed that most of our current experts are relatively new to LP. Also as I said before it is their choice if they want to keep working not yours. This isn't t

Lottery veterans question Tennessee family's behavior before claiming Powerball winnings
And rightfully so. Annuity jackpots are deceptive in more ways than one: Annuity value is not guaranteed for Powerball nor Mega Millions. They don't always pay out what they advertise. The Florida winner a few years ago was short-changed several million. Annuity value is a fiction. The advertised amount doesn't exist. Rather the cash value is used to establish an annuity that will, over many years, payout the cumulative amount. Of course in the meantime, the value of the dollar greatly dimin

Tips to keep in mind.......BIG jackpots have been won, we are past the first week of new scratch tix being released. --Watch for mirror or partial mirrors. (see what happened below) --Close the gap between your favorite sets of #'s --Alice would LOVE for you to be 1-off (up or down) so you will spend and extra $1.00 for 1-off, don't do it, learn to close the gap! --After the first week of new tix being released, or cash 5's BIG (100k+) jackpot being won, you need to look back at list

Luckiest States
Everybody loses around your area because in Powerball only 1 combination out of every 25 wins anything and the odds that you'll win more than $7 are one in 15,000 It isn't that some combinations are suboptimal, it is that the game isn't designed to create lots of winners, it is designed to create monster jackpots that get people reaching for their wallets. It really is just mathematics at work, factual, long known, well tested, mathematics. If you buy 25 tickets a week y

I think that powerball has crossed the line what do you think?
I knew it would take less than a day for someone to post something like this. First, kindly stop the nonsense of trying to dictate what people should or shouldn't have. That's not your call to make and unless you've taken a vow of poverty is insanely hypocritical. Second, UK players were upset that ticket prices went up and that the odds of winning decreased. Big JPs weren't the issue. Third, enough with the wussification of EVERYTHING. The only losers in life are the ones too afraid

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly To The Powerball Rolling Over...
Why couldn't those who pull the winning numbers to begin with just pick more numbers til the decided amount of winners is selected per the jackpot amount. Say if it is a $100M jackpot.. 2 winners are picked, if $200M 4 winners, etc.. and so on. Would have to be a mandated and voted change to the lottery system for PM and MM by the powers to be. Seems only fair. When you think of all the people who could benefit from all those different jackpots from over the years and some doing with the

$900 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot to create unimaginable wealth
Meanwhile the median yearly household income in the US is $51,939 ($24,062 for individual income). Multiply this number by 40 for lifetime earnings and you get just above 2 million (for a household) Considering that, 500 million cash option is 250 times the median lifetime household income in the US. Chances are high that a person with or below median yearly wages will win. It is simply too much money even if it is split among a few winners. My problem with what is currently hap
