So if you find a winning formula, it's considered fraud?
Nah that's not the point.
I'm looking at it from two different scales.
One has more money to play higher games, and the small fish playing pick 3 gets to go?
If my 7yr old son magically finds a pattern, and because he can't play because he's underage and tells me numbers to purchase. I'm functioning as a courier right? And I go out and buy 72 tickets in a month. All winning.
Okay. Fair enough!

Texas Lottery Commission votes to ban lottery couriers
I don't think we're actually all that misaligned! It would be horrendous if the Texas Lottery were to be shut down, and it's just as frustrating that the Texas Lottery (and possibly legislature, depending on what comes out of this legislative session) would pick a blanket solution rather than work out the details. It's simply the path of lesser resistance. Just makes you go ugh! I appreciate the different perspectives. I think the part where we disagree on is what the appropriate solution is.

Bill banning lottery courier services passes Indiana House and Senate
Couriers have nothing to do with rigging a lottery (which itself is a loaded/incorrect term). I assume by rigging you mean someone buying all the possible combinations. THAT IS NOT DONE THROUGH A COURIER. It would be too expensive, because couriers charge extra money per ticket/order.
Just because Texas legislators and the New York Times are unable to differentiate between two separate concepts does not mean that we at Lottery Post cannot correctly separate these two concepts. What they do i

Attorney General investigates "suspicious and potentially illegal" Texas Lottery jackpot
Nobody is preventing anyone from buying lottery tickets. People driving through states have bought tickets and won money.
And nobody is blaming illegal immigrants for any of this.
If you want to test this theory walk into any Texas lottery retailer, hand them a buck and tell them you want a ticket for the Texas Lotto, no extras.
You will get a ticket. They will take your buck.
You don't need a third party courier to buy a ticket or to cash a winner. I've done it since 1992 whe

Texas Lottery bans lottery courier services
Some people can't get out of the house. Also, Texas is a huge state with very large rural areas. I imagine many people live far away from town and don't have easy access to the lottery.
The Lt. Governor's statement was ill-informed and illustrates that he does not have a grasp on the situation. The Lottery should have educated the government officials privately about the issue not in a hearing where the participants are trying to score political points.
As I mentioned, there is a really

Texas Lottery
Glad to see the ban on courier services. Now go take back all the extra machines and shut 'em down! Let them move back to California (or Delaware).
I really want to believe those guys had the best interest of the lottery players at heart. I want to believe the were hoping to make Texas the largest lottery in the states. In part I'm sure it's true, but they were either naive or plain foolish to go about it the way they did
The burr under my saddle is looking at this stack of Texas lotter

Winner of $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot is infamous bulk buyer
Idaho legislation moves along bill to ban bulk lottery ticket purchases
By Kate Northrop
The Idaho Lottery's initial suspicions that a bulk purchaser was at play during a jackpot run that resulted in an $877,800 Idaho Cash win were correct when it was confirmed that an entity known for executing jackpot buyouts came forward to claim the prize.
In response to restless national sentiment surrounding the nature of jackpot buyouts and a recent $877,800 Idaho Cash win, Idaho state legisla

Arizona Lottery bans Fast Play bulk ticket purchases
Congratulations to the Arizona Lottery for instituting this rule. This is exactly what we have been advocating for the past year, when the situation in Texas starting cropping up, and officials there wrongly blamed courier services.
We strongly advocated for a bulk ticket limit to solve all these issues back in October of 2024: https://www.lotterypost.com/news/352288
Instead of doing that, the Texas Lottery doubled down on wrongly blaming couriers and banned them . The predictable resul

New Jersey Lottery proposes rules regulating courier services to allow them to operate
Something you have to remember: Courier services charge for their service. That increases the price of a ticket. e.g. A US Powerball line costs me US$4 and a MM line costs $8.45. Are you willing to pay double every time you buy tickets just in case you win big ? I pay because that is my only option.. but I do limit buys to higher jackpots :)
Your bank might have reporting responsibility locally. (Person X received Y dollars from lottery provider Z.)
And.. avoiding paying state tax on a w

Texas Lottery Commission votes to ban lottery couriers
I hear what you're saying and understand your perspective re: health care as an illustrator to your point, but it seems like what you are saying is that you are fine being complacent with government incompetence. Although you are well within your right, that's not something I can ever agree with.
You are voicing your thoughts in a place solely dedicated to the love of the lottery - while you might interpret the courier issue as a minor inconvenience and view the lottery as inconsequential co
