Illinois Little Lotto Jackpots 2009
No winner last night. I'm posting this from a public library computer, I can't post from home since every thread now ends with an ad. (Ran al the checks, the only thing I can figure is the 443 port, haven't tried that yet). I'm using Firefox, dial-up, Spy-bot, and Ad-aware (lavasoft). Wonder if anyone else has the same problem. Since you can never know if you'll get a library computer or not, if anyone wants to continue this thread until the end of the year you can get the daily results

do you think that QPs repeat?
According to William Atwood in his incisive book, The Lottery Solution, what we know to be quick picks are actually a percentage of the total number of combinations the computer is programmed to release to the buying public. Thus, the qp I might buy today in my state might in fact be the one you buy three days later in your state. Ever notice how the PB or MM jackpots never reach $400 million? That's most likely due to the fact that as the jackpot grows, the number of total combinations re

NY Lottery and Anonymity
I'm bummed because I just checked out the VA lottery site: Can I remain anonymous when I claim my lottery winnings? http://www.valottery.com/faq/kb_detail.asp?type=keyword keyword=anonymous id=89 No. Winners often ask if they can claim Lottery prizes anonymously. Virginia state law stipulates that a person must claim a prize; winners cannot claim a Virginia Lottery prize with a limited liability company or a trust, for example. In addition, the claimant s name, hometown and prize are p

One ticket from S.C. wins $260M Powerball lottery jackpot
I just bought my Mega Milliion tickets today:) All I can do is hope for the best:) Besides, the only way to win is to keep playing the Mega Millions game. I hate when people say Oh, you'll never win that lottery. You have better chances of getting struck by lightning. Well, if that was true, why do people win the Powerball or Mega Millions lottery at all? If that was the case, no one should ever win the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot. Even though the Powerball odd

Where Does the Money Go?
This description may not be strictly correct in all the technicalities, but it can give a general idea of how this works. The cash value is the amount of money in the prize pool. For simplicity, let's assume one person wins the jackpot. If he selects the cash value option, he receives the cash value amount, which is money already held by the lottery commission. If the winner selects the annuitized payment option, he receives the first annual payment, and the rest (of the cash value) is dep

why you haven't won the lottery
good point but i think the idea would be to form a community of people with ideas to get us there. when it comes to big jackpots i have no clue but the reality is folks win daily (P/3-P/4) the trick is to look for trends.they do cut after a while so always have 1 or 2 moves for security reasons and always be on top of the game. some folks win daily remember that not the big games. and yes they chill off the winnings it happens all the time. to be able to put the right combin

Spending too much on Lotto Tickets?
RJ is right. So far this year I spent $159 on MM and won $8, a 5% return. On Tx Lotto I spent $118 and won $6, a 5% return. See a pattern here? And this is pretty much the case every year. With Tx 2 Step I spent $207 and won $56, 27% return, but much lower odds and much lower jackpots. Generally, each year with P3 and P4 and Cash 5 included with the jackpot games I'll get about a 15% return on what I spent. So, you spend $100 a week and you are getting a 7% return which is right on target.
