Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Panouses mentioned about people calling him before they win for free advice. It is no different than asking a contractor for a little free work in your home. I doubt there are more than a handful of experienced lottery attorneys and ones who are familiar with all the personalities in various state lottery offices. One could always hire a big city firm but it would likely cost far more. I doubt an associate would be assigned to a $ billion win so you are going to pay $1000 plus per hour

Circle K asks judge to delay expiration date for $12.8 million Arizona Lottery jackpot amid dispute
Circle K has many legal matters and settlements going on, and those payments could come from this $12 million lottery money. Circle K is not a saint here. If this were only a $10,000 winning ticket, would Circle K really hire law firms charging $300 per hour to defend its store policy, business principle, and lottery integrity? Probably not. That is why they are fighting so hard in court. If this were only about store policy and principle, they could let the ticket expire and end the fight.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Playing the lottery is a risk, depending on the amount of the wager involved. For those who wager hundreds, thousands, or millions of dollars, it's a risk. I've read about gamblers who mortgaged their homes to play the lottery. For such cases, it's a BIG risk.

New lottery number experiment pays off for North Carolina woman with $212,371 Cash 5 jackpot
I picked my numbers by just closing my eyes and pointing at them, she laughed with Lottery officials. It was my first time trying that. Congratulations on the win - may all your bills balance drop to zero. My next project is getting a cork board, pin a Manila sheet with the lottery numbers, get some darts and fire off to the jackpot. Where the darts land is the numbers I play Everybody wish me luck

Lottery Phobias
Used to play Pick 3 almost every day for years. Once in a great while I added Pick 4, scratchers, MM, PB. If I played one draw my limit was $20 for the day. If I played both draws $35 for the day. Usually I just played one draw. Everyone knows how much they win, but do you know how much you actually spend? I didn't keep track until I decided to save all my losing tickets for a year starting Jan 1, then add them up the following Jan 1. I was like wow!! Do I really do that every year? So the next

Washington DC Pick 5 1 in 200 million odds
Originally I thought that the DC Lottery was only picking singles for every single drawing. It's unlikely but possible. Then you posted a link to the TN Lottery's software glitch where only singles could be drawn (thus, the unwinnable tickets). So I looked at the recent drawings for the DC Lottery and found five counterexamples in just the last four days. Clearly, this is not a software glitch. They're just random numbers behaving in a random way.
