Retired Illinois couple share $656M lottery jackpot
Thanks, Jill34786, I realized that Todd must have written the article too quickly, and that is why he referred to the annuity amount as the lump sum amount ... then all the math went down hill from there!
I wonder if the winner's accountant [experienced accountants, here is your chance to chime in your research results] is going to be a helpful hire by recommending that this winner pay some additional Income Tax % to the Federal IRS this year, before April 2013; so that no penalty % will

$363 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised due to heavy sales
Realistically all you really need to win is $3 million to $10 million free and clear to retire and live a pretty great life. You can have a very nice home, cars, boat and other stuff and have enough money left over to live off the interest. I really never wanted to win these gigantic jackpots, my gut feeling is that they probably create a lot more problems than if you won something smaller.
And for the person that wanted to buy hundreds of rental houses, don't do it. I have owned rental prop

$290 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls again
Why are people saying that they are going to win in Florida? the Mega Millions is not offered in that state... i think, last time i looked....
as for another point... i think that the jackpot will be increased before the draw Friday. due to that massive hit on the 5 of 5. i think that if that many people had not won it would be over 300 million
Good Luck to all and if i win thanks for contributing to my new Truck and helping me pay off my parents bills so they can retire!!!

Irish $16M lottery winner still claiming over $6,000 a year in benefits
As well as the generous 500-a-month ($794) disability living allowance, the wealthy couple are given a new car every three years under a mobility scheme for the disabled.
Wow, this puts the Scooter Store mobility chair to shame! The US would go broke if all of the disabled in America were given a new car every three years. I for one am against this entire entitlement attitude. I have served in the military, but I don't think it necessary for military or any other governmental worker to receiv

Florida Lottery education spending investigated
In the state of sc, 6.9% of a teacher's check is taken out and put into the retirement system. That teacher can retire after 28 years and draw a check. Guess what? There is an alarming amount of teachers in sc that are retiring and the state can't pay them. So they are thinking about taking 7.9% now and making the teachers do 30 years instead of 28 like they do in nc. Btw, teachers in nc have not had a raise in 4 years.
My question..WHERE IS THE SO CALLED EDUCATION LOTTERY MONEY GOING?? My gu

What is the biggest prize you won with the lottery?
Thanks HoLeeKau!
I now have my sights on the more attractive Second Prize Powerball has to offer, and with an extra dollar with the Powerplay, $2,000,000.000 is a real game changer. Think I could retire with that dough if invested wisely?
Good luck with all your future play's!
