Latest news: Powerball is changing
From 8.00am on Friday, 1 March 2013, exciting changes will be introduced to Powerball to offer players more prizes, big jackpots, more often.
The first Powerball draw subject to the game changes will occur on Thursday, 7 March 2013 (draw #877).
A new Powerball game structure.
Six numbers will be drawn from a barrel of 40 numbers and one Powerball number will be drawn from a barrel of

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Your assumption was lottery players would not only continue to play the same way forever, but use the same 8 lines.
I didn't use the same 8 lines over and over. The program simulated 2 players with different strategies. Each game the program generated 8 new tickets. For player A it arranged all 48 numbers into random arrangements on the 8 tickets. Player B just simulated a QP player and it generated 8 random tickets and didn't care if there were duplicate numbers on the tickets. I don't th

taxes on jackpot winnings
Win4 - 1:10,000 = $2600 (s/b 0.50/0.50)payout is 3.8 of odds;
Take5 - 1:575,757 = $50k payout is 11.5 of odds.
575757 / 10000 = 57.57
57.57 x $2600 = $150k. Which means Win4 pays x3 of Take5 for same odds.
However, if you hit 2nd place in Take5 and the prize is above $600, you pay taxes. Also, if you play all lines on single ticket, and the combined prizes go above $600 you pay taxes.
This happens during the buy $10 on single ticket get $3 QPs promo... which is why I dont like it.

I have already proved my tactics work as I have one JP win and many, many 4of5's and even more 3of5's etc...
Smaller games have smaller jackpots, Even a 500K JP win after taxes divided 17 ways is not much on an incentive
to play. 500*.32=160, 500-160=340 and 340/17=20K. I could take up a second job and make 20K in less time
then it might take to win a smaller JP. To win one must play and playing in the pool gives me many more chances
to hit then playing by myself. Like I said I

$425 MILLION: Largest Powerball lottery jackpot in history
I wish Todd would run an article about how many jackpots have been won with self picks vs quick picks. The last time I read something on that subject it was approx 50-50.
Do you have evidence of your article?
Was that a Gail Howard article?
I wish Todd would...
I wish todd also would change the emoticon of the leprechaun.
He has a three leaf clover, similar to what you have posted. A three leaf clover is not lucky.
Its a four leaf clover that is lucky. I once found a four leaf

When playing scratch tickets do some people just go to many different locations to play?
Agreed...timing and being at the right place.
You have to switch up the places you buy your tickets. Some places just stink all around for anything...instants, big games,
jackpots, ie.
Buy a few from a handful of stores, find the one that does the best...make that your first choice store but keep others in
mind too.
That's what I do..I'll go to a few stores and buy a few from each...radius: about 10 miles.
If you're talking just other states, I don't do that.
Even with a cru

Good Morning Mink. I been up all night crunching. I have some goodies for the sweet million. I am gonna post em up later in Jackpots thread.
They changed that policy. I did lose some free plays back in the day due to that policy and my habit of hoarding. Check the back of your ticket.
@feisty... as for why i dont cash them, its because they didn't treat me good in the past. I have given some away to friends, I have had 32 free plays many a time. Only to get back to zero.

Could We Use Another Big Game Lottery??
Powererball and Megamillions have been around for awhile now. Most seem relatively content with the up and down performance of these games.
There's a percentage of us that are frustrated however, by the sometimes slower moving jackpots, smaller lower tier prizes and maybe some other
miscellaneous nut and bolt issues.
Do you think that a newer nationwide big game should give PB and MM a run for their money? After all America is all about competition. Where would
we be if there we

Mass. Lottery knew about exploited game's flaws for years, IG says
I was one of the people who figured this system out. I'm not as active on the LP forums as I once was, but I used to be a semi-regular. I know there are other LP regulars who also figured it out. If you read all of the forums all the time, you would have come across people discussing this strategy (though not in explicit detail) years ago.
First off, I'd like to address the comment, all the illegal activities they and others were doing in order to win. No one did anything illegal. Read the or
