Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
After some discussion in your thread, here's is what I think about your question. I think your math as you stated it, is correct. QPs are defined by the Lottery Commission. They are the tickets you purchase which are printed quick pick or similar language. However, the lottery doesn't track SPs. They only define SPs as anything other than a QP. That is where the major difference of opinion comes up. If someone plays dreams or license plates, it is based on some random event. It isn't a QP. B

TxLottery From The WayBack Machine, TxMillion Game.
That game lasted for some time, but for some reason some people don't remember it. The Tx2Step replaced it. I also don't like the low payouts for the TxCash5 Jackpots, nor the low payouts for the lower prizes either. Yes, I might perhaps like a game like the Pa's Quinto. A Quinto game could be: A pick 1, for the very first digit and then pay $5 for it. A pick 2 (Pair) for the very first straight pair (first 2 digits) and pay $50. A pick 3 for the first 3 straight digits and

2 quick Lotto Texas winners put state in bind
By Todd Northrop Two recent Texas Lotto winners have hit jackpots of $21 million and $6 million, but for the Texas Lottery it has meant dipping into revenues by $3.4 million to cover the prizes. In just the past 10 days, two lucky lottery players have matched all six Lotto Texas numbers, but the lottery did not sell enough tickets during that period to fully cover the advertised prize. The shortfall was created by the way the Texas Lottery generates its new advertised jackpot amount eac

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
LotteryTechInc, COIN TOSS As far as who is insulting who just consider jarasan's last two posts right after yours. (YESbut you and especially viosndude have made negative comments maybe noton the same level as the opposition but the feeling is there on whatyou guys think about self picks) I don't think I've been insulting to anyone, I've basically just quoted statistics. I haven't called system players idiots or any such thing. If guessing that maybe they play too heavy and need somet

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
back on topic: There are no published statistics to determine a batting average on what method (QP v PP) works best. There is only an unfounded claim that cannot be disproved or proven. Sales of tickets go up when jackpots increase, so to say one method is superior without all the facts is really an Assumption. If PP s did not work for the players what difference does it make? Why the drive to prove QP s are superior? Why the drive to discredit PP s? Why do the PP people have to prove anythin

Fooled by Randomness
Jim, Trust me, I do not feel any lack of credibility with my method. I'd stack my method up against anything Nicolos Taleb (or you for that matter) have to say about lottery numbers. You're talking to a real thoroughbred player. A real student of the game.....there's only a few of us here, and with the gut to call you out on your rambling about lottery numbers, which you clearly at a amatuer stage. I don't deal with Pick 3 and 4. I deal with major jackpots, the 6/56 games; Mega Million. Th

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
Curiousity got the best of me again, so I checked the results for Tx Lotto going back to the last matrix change on 4-26-06. There are 2 draws a week. There have been 29 jackpot winners, 19 QP's, 10 SP's. Then I checked Tx 2 Step which is drawn 2 times a week. I only went back to the beginning of this year for time's sake. There have been 17 jackpot winners. 13 QP's, 4 SP's. Then I checked Cash 5 which is a daily game. Going back the beginning of this year, there have been 101 jackpot winne

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
dr65, The gist of the QP vs PP discussions seems to be the QP set looks at lotto as a dollar and a dream (as someone has in their sig) and figures if you're going to win you're going to win. Luck fate, kismet, etc. The general attitude is I'll throw a buck or two at it. The PP set seems to really overhype their approach and knowledge of all things lotto with absolutely no jackpots won yet to show for it. One side is saying, well, it's luck and this is what I play, the other is saying do
