$214 million Powerball lottery ticket sold in Delaware
These people stole my story! Well, at least the story I dream about. I've been running an office pool for both Mega Millions and Poweball for nearly 3 years now. We average anywhere from 15 to 40 players on each draw (depends on the size of the jackpot). At the upper end the pool comprises about 85% of the small company I work for. It will be very interesting to see what happens to that company as well as the individuals.

If you had 55 tickets, how would you play

Evidence mounts against defendant in Mega Millions lawsuit
Nancy,That's great advice! Also, great job on your lottery pool - it's rare to hear one doing so well. Does you pool pick its own numbers, or do you get Quick Picks?

OhioSuperLotto picks 08/07/2004
Tonight, I used a pool of 29 numbers that have hit 1 or 2 times in the last 8 drawings. In the past 75% of the winning numbers have contained 3 or more of such numbers. 20% have contained 5 or more of such numbers. I've been trying to come up with a smaller pool of numbers to play and this is how I picked my numbers for tonight.Good luck Ohioplayers.RJOh

Evidence mounts against defendant in Mega Millions lawsuit
There is a large $5 per week pool for powerball where I work. They asked if I wanted to join, I asked how many members and how they pick their numbers...they have 30 in the pool and play all quick picks... I passed. they would need to hit a huge jackpot to have any decent payoff

*UNITED we STAND*Calling all Predictors!
The best way to get a group of people on the same page for a jackpot game is to start a pool, nothing unify people faster than sharing the expenses and the winnings. With the pick3 and pick4 games the payout isn't big enough for a pool, but there are plenty of posters sharing their ideas and picks,so just check out a few and pick the ones you like, you'll win as much as they do or more if you use their ideas and not their numbers.RJOh

One ticket wins $290 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot
What other monies? The advertized jackpot amount is based on the minimum expected contribution from each participating state to the jackpot pool based on their sales. There is no other monies . The portions from each state to the jackpot pool from each of the earlier advertized jackpots helped make up the $290 million. The rest of the prize payout levels are the responsibility of each state's lottery individually. So, therefore, there is no other monies to be had.

Changes to Canada Lotto 6/49 now in effect
The June 5 jackpot exceeded $10 million as predicted. It reached $10.9 million. The jackpot was won but the next two jackpots will still be $17 million and $25 million as part of a bonus jackpot promotion for the new format.gutgnt, glad to hear you are willing to blow all your money in Canada. If you are serious, I would suggest trying to find a Canadian lottery pool. It seems though, that most people on this forum are not interested in playing in a pool.Good luck,Jake

Pick 3 System That Gaurantees a Hit
Also, like i said b4 in one of the posts, the state doesn't care if more people win. They get their 50% cut reguardless. If it's a pari-mutuel pool, and if everyone were to win, the payout per person would be something like: for every dollar, you win $.50 (half of what you put in). If the prize pool was fixed, the state will just adjust the payouts accordingly to the percentage they go by. The state wouldn't change the game itself, but the payouts would be different.
