Winning Hot Lotto ticket sold in New Mexico
New Mexico Lottery officials say one of two winning tickets for Saturday's Hot Lotto drawing was sold in New Mexico.
The other ticket was sold in Minnesota. The winners will split a $1.9 million jackpot.
The New Mexico winning ticket is the first Hot Lotto jackpot winner for the state since the game first went on sale there in November, 2006.
The New Mexico Lottery also offers Hot Lotto's better-known sibling, Powerball. Hot Lotto is played in nine other states.
It's been dubbed th

Anyone watch E! True Hollywood Story: Curse of the Lottery show?
Ok, if you are going to tear apart my post, let me make some additional points.
The only way state lotteries could insure the jackpots would go into the right hands is to cheat. Is there a rule in your state that says only the deserving can win ?
I Never said that the state could, in any way, ensure that lottery money goes into the right hands. All I actually said was that money is a blessing in the right hands. What does the state, or even the lottery have to do with my statemen

Finally, one's growing!
You folks have bad memories, we've been through this:
Not too long ago we discussed the winners, how there were more from Idaho or Wyoming, or even an Iowa - a sparse state regardless of which one - when there were none from Pennsylvania. *BUT* go back a few years, and there were winners from PA.
And don't be putting words in my mouth - I didn't say the lottery is not random.
Having to explain YET AGAIN, if you read my first posting, I simply asked how often one state will win consecu

After a $100 Million jackpot win, how would you deal with family?
Most of the lottery jackpots are in the $5-20 million range, but their mail boxes are probably just as full with requests for money as a $100 million winner though the requests probably continue longer for the bigger prize winners. The reason for this is during the press conference, they ask the winner about their plans for the money and many will say they will contribute some of it to charity so the floods gates are opened.
The reason that people like Gates, Trump, and Wynn don't have as ma

Do you use RSS feeds?
I have posted about RSS feeds in the past, and haven't gotten much feedback, so I'm guessing there aren't many people utilizing them. Am I correct?
If you don't know what an RSS feed is, you can read about them here. (That link has been in the left menu for years, but I'm not sure too many people have investigated it.) Frankly, that info is a bit out of date at this point, so I'll need to update it when I get some time. However, it's probably still worth looking at if you never have.

Random Number Generator: ORION Products...
My response was made because you misrepresented the claim made by Orion Products. In the first paragraph they said:
There are several of these algorithms and it is difficult, though in principle not impossible, to assess from the numbers which algorithm is used.
And you used that statement to say a RNG could be cracked. However in the second paragraph that you neglected to add, ORION said:
Another approach to obtain random numbers is to use noise in nature. The

When does a lottery game become a legal scam?
Background
When the lottery was implemented in Texas, the main lotto game was pick 6 of 50. The game later was changed to pick 6/54. Still later, the game was changed to pick 5/44 and 1/44.
After MegaMillions was implemented, the lotto game was changed to pick 6 of 54. Regardless of sales, the jackpot begins at $4 million and rolls until won.
The public was not happy with the changes and only about 3 million tickets are sold each draw. This means about 23 million combinations are not b

Add Chicago to that sentiment- not only Chicago, but Chicago, QP's, and oh so often purchased at a White Hen Pantry.
