Coin Toss If my memory is correct, there was an entry in the PB FAQ where someone asked a question regarding sales. The answer was that about 79% of the tickets sold are Quick Picks. It was more than 70% but less than 80%. Lotto officials often state that they don't think a jackpot will be won until more than 80% of available combinations are sold. In any lottery I look for trends in the input, the numbers from which winners are drawn (0-9 in Pick 3, 1-49 in 6/49 etc). I do not bother to look for relationships in the output - the winning sets (1000 combos in Pick3, 12+ million lines in 6/49), as for me it's an exercise in futility. The smaller the pool of numbers to analyse the easier it is to spot trends. I go for simple but easy to compute statistics - hot, cold, repetitive, due, overdue and growing trend.
