Funny you mention this. I don't watch draws anymore, but years ago when I used to watch on occasion, I did the same thing as you. I would try to guess it using my ESP, and would get some numbers correct on a few occasions. I never got all 3, but 2 out of 3 a few times. I found through my experiences that I sometimes do better in the selection process when I quickly fill a betslip out without thinking, or like with the live draw.
