Do you Believe Lotteries are Random?
Yes no. Everything we are is the result of being in a certain place at a certain time. Have you ever seen a car accident ahead of you and wondered What if I had left 1 minute earlier? What if I had been traveling 5 miles an hour faster? So, no matter how carefully calculated something is, it can be altered by only a fraction of a second by a random, unplanned event (like a sneeze or hesitation) and randomness can be manipulated by a planned sequence of events.
I'm not sure exacty what I said,

JADE's Pick 3 Pick 4 Selector Now Available
We've all learnt in college math stats that random trials are independent, that past drawings do not influence current outcome.
-------------
It is a good thing that teachers and their students are so confused about meanings, statistics and random , there is already too much competition for lottery prizes.
What do those things have to do with lottery prediction by statistics?
People think, but don't reason, at least not right.

People might say that one event do

The Law of Large Numbers
This is from an article in AARP about miracles.
The Law of Large Numbers shows that an event with a low probability of occurrence in a small number of trials has a high probability of occurrence in a large number of trials , says Scientific American coulumnist Michael Shermer, author of Why People Believe Weird Things (W.H. Freeman, revised, 2002). Events with a-million-to-one odds happen 295 times a day in America.

Michigan Lottery celebrates 10th raffle drawing
If you check the Event Calendar, I have posted all the upcoming raffles (and you can go back and see the ones that took place in Dec.).
Maryland has conducted two raffles in the past (see the Maryland Lottery Results page at www.lotterypost.com/results/md) but sadly they did not do a holiday raffle this yeat. I personally think that's a big mistake, and is a shame for players.

Minnesota Lottery draws winning numbers in raffle
Check the Event Calendar. It includes in-depth descriptions of just about every raffle being drawn between Dec. and Jan.
They are just like raffles you might see anywhere, like a fund-raiser or something, except on a much larger scale, where the top prize(s) are normally $1 million. The tickets are expensive, but in return you get the best chance of winning $1 million of any game available in the state.

Million Dollar Raffle
I agree, not sure why California didn't have a raffle this year. I mentioned California (among others) in the main raffle thread I posted about all the Event Calendar entries:

If a sibling of yours won a lottery jackpot, how much would you expect to be given?
Though I would not expect anything, in the event any of my siblings won a major jackpot such as MM or PB, I think they would all likely gift something to each of the other siblings, though I wouldn't want to guess how much. None of us are younger than age 60 and none are likely to be big spenders even with a jackpot win, so I think all would spread it around a bit. Those who don't have a spouse or children would probably give more to siblings than the others, especially if the win were a state j

Da' Queen Pickin' Da' Winners
well, this is unbelieveable. i've plaved 6543 and 4653 both midday and evening, and while watching the live drawing of the michigan drawing tonight the daily 4 went like this: 6....5....4....2. unbelieveable. i know other people have had this happen and of course lottory is a random event and the balls don't know about being midday or evening or patterns but gee whiz, can i ever get a break. now what? i would hate to stop playing and these numbers i've been playing this month were then drawn. we

Sold out combo
I can never seem to get a quad on p4 or a triple on p3 no matter when I try. I have seen people play the same number 50 and 100 times, so it could be that sort of thing keeping you from getting the numbers before the cap is reached for that day. It is the only thing I can figure. Plus, 11:11 is a dna sequence trigger. Many people are seeing theirs now. It comes on the heels of upheaval and before a life-changing event. And this happening in the year of change-'08. (I know that is a little tin ha

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ: Extended Maintenance Period
Thanks c j. (Although far from perfect!)
I just wanted to wrap up this topic (and this event) by saying that I have finally finished the work that was the subject of the downtime today.
(That is, I have finished just about everything that will affect Web visitors and members. There is still a lot of work that I personally need to do over the next two days to wrap everything up, but I don't think it will involves any kind of substantial downtime.)
As there normally is with this kind of t
