Are lotteries part of the solution to the crisis in states' budgets?
Never trust a Politician! The country is going down the tubes and we as a people are doing NOTHING to stop it. March on Washington - sue each and every politician in Washington for fraud and anything else we can come up with. That would get their attention that we won't take it anymore! Oh wait!! You can't sue them?!?! Geez. Got to think of another plan. Okay we can start to impeach a few at a time - that should do it!

Does anyone know why don't we get a receipt for purchasing a lottery ticket(s)?
1..Does anyone know why don't we get a receipt for purchasing a lottery ticket(s)? 2..Would you want that to happen? I know that I would just because it could be added security feature against lottery fraud.

Iowa Lottery retail check finds no cheating
The Iowa Lottery said today it found no evidence that lottery ticket winners were cheated when it conducted security checks last month at 120 retail sites statewide. Three lottery underecover investigators posed as customers and visited 126 randomly-selected Iowa retail locations on Feb. 24 and 25, said Iowa Lottery Vice President Mary Neubauer. They presented 128 winning tickets with cash prizes ranging from $1 to $100. In every instance, the retailer paid the correct amount, Neubauer sai

Colorado Lottery investigates 21-time prize winner
Why is he being dragged through the mud? He has not been accused of anything, never mind charged or convicted. The lottery should not have revealed his identity until it had some evidence of wrong-doing. If someone is involved in fraud they should be investigated and if there is evidence, they should be charged, and if convicted, punished. Just because someone wins a lot it does not mean he is doing something wrong. Innocent unlit proven guilty. I hope he sues the lottery for defamation

Braking the law
I'm fairly sure that it would be considered fraud for them to do that and probably a host of other things too. Not to mention the PR nightmare it would cause and probably killing the lottery in that state for a good amount of time from the money lost in class-action lawsuits to people completely losing trust in it. I'm sure those involved go to prison, probably some minimum security country club . Look at the RNG fiasco in Tennessee and how it's has hurt sales (we all know the Lottery Director/P

Texas Lottery confirms that Quick Picks are not generated by "central computer"
Most state lotteries are state agencies with strict oversight. They are responsible to the elected officials and citizens of their state. Except a few states with quasi-corporate structures, they don't get to keep the profits they generate, and most don't even reward workers with bonuses for good performance, which is how the real business world works. The only incentive would be to return more money to the state, which is hardly a good motivator to turn people into cheats. And to boot, awar

The cops got our ticket then we found ourselves homeless
My sister rubbed out a 5 million dollar instant Lifetime Riches game 540 in Aug 2006. We thought we misplaced it in home or tossed. It was stolen. How?. Someone had a monitor in our home as Sis became left side paralyzed from brain surgery in 2002 and stakes were high. We did not secure it as I was going to take it to be check, but sis had a medical emergency. Woodbridge Police got hold of our ticket, would not take a report as we could not say our home was entered although we later found our al

Devil's Advocate Mode - Foreign Lottery Scams.
I have no doubt that there are a number of foreign lottery scams going on right now. But, I also have no doubt that there are a number of legitimate foreign lotteries. Years ago, my ex and I played the Gold Coast Lottery out of Australia (Queensland) by mail. We didn't win so much money we could retire (grin), but we DID win a few times. One check I got was big enough to pay a monthly electric bill ... and one check my ex got was big enough to buy two weeks worth of groceries. The only mailings
