B.C. Lottery faces lawsuit from second problem gambler
A Vancouver Island man is suing the British Columbia Lottery Corporation because the company denied him a $42,500 jackpot on the grounds he's a registered problem gambler although the BCLC has never stopped him from losing money. At the time, Mike Lee was supposed to be barred from casinos entirely under the BCLC self-exclusion program, but his lawsuit contends that the company let him in and allowed him to gamble anyway. It's unconscionable to allow someone that has gambling issues to le

Should illegal immigrants be able to claim lottery prizes?
I read over your post and mine once more. I think it is easy to confuse and be confusing on the threads sometimes. So much to read, so many points and a lot to keep abreast of...my statement in my post concerning: go to a foreign country - play their lottery - match the winning numbers and collect UNLESS you happen to be there illegally - again tied into a response to perdue's post. The fact that she was almost vehement in her argument over whether aliens can play in other countries and

Refreshingly candid: Ga. Lottery chief discusses future game plans
Georgia Lottery chief Margaret DeFrancisco tries to stay ahead of the pack. In the lottery's sprawling downtown offices, DeFrancisco wheels around on a kid's scooter with a bell on the handlebars so she can avoid close calls with the walking crowd. And with the pressure mounting as demand for lottery revenue for HOPE scholarships and pre-k outstrips its growth, she's searching for new sources of money. Down the road, DeFrancisco said, don't be surprised if interactive lottery games appear

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
rdgrnr, Amen! We sure have a lot of MAVEN U. - OPINION OVER KNOWLEDGE - Grads here. Let's see, the thread title is Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's . So what do the statistics tell us? The average sale is $1. Even with the Powerplay and the Megaplier if you watch the drawings and they announce lower tier winners it is most often the prize for a $1, not $2. More people play QPs, a lot more people. Most jackpots are won by a QP. In a Pick 5 game most tickets match 0 o

Some upset with Pennsylvania Lottery broadcast
Pittsburghers who watch the nightly lottery drawings have been losing a little sleep lately, though it's not because of big jackpot jitters. When the multi-state Mega Millions debuted Feb. 2 in Pennsylvania, state lotto officials asked television stations statewide to broadcast it in the same time slot as the Powerball drawing, which airs Wednesdays and Saturdays. Instead of squeezing the Mega Millions into the familiar 10:59 p.m. time slot Tuesdays and Fridays, Pennsylvania Lottery offici

Just wanted to say Hi and came back on this board.
I am utterly baffled. Sorry but you need a dose of reality. The last thing you need to do is be back in the games. $60 in 3 years and have lost thousands? You are back to the point where this whole mess probably began...dreaming that if you had a million or two all your troubles will be over. That is not true with people like you. In one of your other posts here, you mention the negativity you got from others'. That is not negativity and until you realize that, you are in the same cy

Powerball or Mega Millions
which one? 1 small issue, PB cant even if it wanted to PB has a jackpot cap of 390m, atfer that, all money gets spread out to 2nd place winners its rather stupid rule, a cap on a rolling jackpot of all things and sense powerball cash jackpot is often less then 50% of the annuity , even if it made it 390m, cap only goes up 25m once hit to 415m, sure be below 200m cash! it would take 3-4 diff jackpot records to get the cap to allow above 200m cash with their annuity
