Hot System Topic
For a lengthy period of time I presented a pick 5 system on my blog, and tracked some individual states in the pick 5 forum. There were some good and not so good comments regarding what I was trying to accomplish. Some understood a little of what was occuring, some didn't understand it at all. There were incouragements from those that seemed to adapt to what was being presented, and some negativism from a few that couldn't grasp it. After a thorough bashing from one idiot who couldn't understand

Should one play if they have others feeding them
From Justx
Everyone was getting a little carried away, and a debate that can't possibly have a good outcome was getting hostile. As another member earlier wrote, what has happened here is a poll about playing the lottery while someone is getting food stamps has turned into a discussion about our entire social welfare system.
Getting Hostile? The poll itself was hostile from the originator, Tntea. What did Tntea expect? That's how ignorant she is. She actually expected everyone to agr

CORPORATE Lottery
I guess I don't get the original poll question - didn't seem to be an option there for I think its OK - all the options seemed the be variations of no - don't let the foreigners do it . That kind of compromises the poll, IMO.
Full disclosure - I actually did consulting fork for Goldman (indirectly) in assessing valuation of GTECH for the buyout.
My first question is - what is the premise here? That only US controlled companies should be able to provide lottery systems in the U

POLL: Ever wonder why you play?
Trying to hit a jackpot being a given, ever wonder why you play?
If you watch the drawings, whether it's pick 3 or 6, or 5 + 1, one wrong number and you realize tonight's not the night.
So why do we keep doing it?
People play PB and MM all year long without ever cashing a ticket.
We watch drawings and have to think, ' when is it my turn', right?
So, why?

The Las Vegas Poll
One of these days I'll make it there but just curious to hear of some of your experiences in the desert! My sis and mother went last year and weren't too impressed but I'll just have to see for myself!
What about you folks?
What's your general impression? Where did you stay? How expensive are the hotels? Anyone stay at the Wynn Las Vegas? Does it live up to the hype? How's the food in Vegas? Where did you eat? Which casino did you like the best? What are your favorite games to play? What

POLL: "Reverso"
Here's the deal, state lottery game, same payout structure, 6 of 6 is a jackpot, payouts for 5, 4, and 3 out of 6.
Let's say it's a 6/49 game....live drawing, balls, but here's the difference.....43 balls are drawn, but the winning numbers are the six balls that are not drawn.
(Vegas actually did this with live Keno for a while).
So would you play? Kind of like lo ball poker, where the worst hand wins - people play because they never get good cards (and then go into a lo ball pot with

Have you ever talked to a lottery official?
Considering the thread, Does your lottery listen to players ,
https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/147573.htm
I thought we need another poll.
Option 3 above......
Recently Missouri sent a link to a survey they were doing about a proposed or prototype $5 baseball scratcher - anyone know of any other lotteries doing something similar?
Sorry, I forgot to put Poll: in front of the thread title.

Poll - PB & MM vs a National Lottery
Someone on one of the threads observed it would make more sense to dissolve the Multi-State Lotteries and create a single lottery run as a national, similar to the Irish and UK.
Tickets for the hypothetical National US lottery would be sold in all states, tickets available in Post Offices, National Park Service offices, National Forestry Services offices, Bureau of Indian Affairs offices and all state and local government offices supported by Federal funding and grants. That funding and th
