NH Powerball lottery winner sues for anonymity
And to add a note to your info, property ownership and I think car titles are matters of public info. To protect yourself, create a LLC that is anonymous , and do the big purchases with that. Unfortunately, they still might have to change their name.

NH Powerball lottery winner sues for anonymity
I believe all states should make anonymous rights a law on the benefit of safety for the winner. There have been some horrible things happen to winners.

Georgia bill would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous — for a price
How quickly they forget the recent home invasion/murder of the Columbus GA man who recently won a big Fantasy 5 jackpot, if he had the option to remain anonymous in his small town/neighborhood, maybe he'd still be alive and the perpretrators not gotten such light sentences! That is insane!

Georgia group fights to prevent lottery winners from claiming anonymously
Not saying she's right or wrong. I would prefer to remain anonymous if I won. But.....it's not a stretch that someone (isis nut) from overseas buying a ticket and winning. Remember the guy from Iran (could be wrong on the country) who bought a lottery ticket (Oregon lottery?) through a butler service and won?
I tried searching but couldn't find it in the archives.
Edit....
He was from Iraq and won Oregon's Megabucks worth $6.4 million in August 2015. He was able to stay anonymous becaus

Georgia group fights to prevent lottery winners from claiming anonymously
The thing that PISSES me off about all this is the state wants to dip further into a persons winnings/pockets. There's already Federal and state taxes now they want to tax someone to remain anonymous, that ludicrous. GREED plain and simple.

Georgia group fights to prevent lottery winners from claiming anonymously
That young man being killed is a perfect example of why winnings should be anonymous! I personally saw how young he was and immediately thought his life was endangered, and no more than a month later he was dead! Their only reasoning mentioned is, it is a bad idea, okay what else?

State Lottery Advice to Winners
Great advice for the lottery, not so much for winners who will be hounded for money. Allowing winners to remain anonymous is great for winners. However, not for the public at-large...
Transparency in all aspects of lottery is important, especially in light of various lottery scandals, such as with Hot Lotto. With more states hiding winner information, there will near certain be more insider fraud than ever. The temptation is too great for many to pass up.

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
In Tx, Gov Abbot signed legislation that allows a person winning a million or more can remain anonymous. The commissioners voted to change the official rules a couple weeks ago. Nice to see, although I wouldn't worry too much about it if I was a jackpot winner.

One Massachusetts lottery ticket wins $758.7 million Powerball jackpot
I predict broke or dead in less than 10 years. She should have remained anonymous for as long as possible. No way she got trusts, and LLC's setup this fast before claiming. She should have lawyered up, met with tax pros and financial planners. Now every Tom, Dick and Harry will come knocking at her door to beg for cash or try to steal it from her.
