Lottery proposal faces long odds in Nevada
Motivated by a struggling education system, Nevada lawmakers are trying for the 23rd time since 1975 to establish a statewide lottery by amending the Nevada Constitution. They say a history of failures and past opposition by the states dominant casino industry wont keep them from trying again.Advocates say a lotterys potential profits, after prizes and operating expenses are deducted, could generate from $30 million to $70 million each year for education money they say is sorely needed.Nevada ra

Threat to boycott the UK National Lottery as tickets double to £2
UK National Lottery bosses came under fire last night as Britons voiced their outrage at today's price rise.
A poll carried out to coincide with the hike revealed 78 per cent of Lotto customers say the increase in price is unfair.
The price of a ticket will double from today to 2 a line, prompting furious players to threaten to boycott the game.
A survey of more than 1,500 people found 73 per cent of weekly players are either unhappy or very unhappy .
It also found more than half of

(Poll) Converting numbers from the web to Excel
I posted the question on the Lottery Systems Forum, but I can see it's going to fall off the page without any response.
Maybe it will do better here.... maybe it needs a poll to spice it up:
Stefan's thread,
New Tool Timesaver
got me wondering whether I'm doing things upside-down and backward, which I tend to do.
It took me several months to jury-rig and patch together a means of taking draw results from this site, the NM site, and others, and working on them on the softwar

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Great responses both in the Poll Replies.
We have a few more opinions, however, we'll wait a bit more to post.

what is the best way to pick numbers for pick 2/3/4/5?
Pick 3: I've hit over half the ways listed in the poll, mostly license plates. The best way to play is a few favorites and a few that change regularly. One week I'll try 5-6 random numbers each day.
Pick 3 winners come more often. Hitting a Pick 4 straight is tough although I've had that experience 4-5 times.

Poll: Classic Mega Millions
Good poll question.
I like the idea of more winners with smaller prizes.

Powerball & Mega Millions: A History
I'm the lone vote so far in the poll. They should enhance the lower tier payouts, but they know they don't have to do it, so they won't.
What they all too well understand is players will to continue to buy tickets even if they make changes that are great for them, but aren't good for players. G5

Winning the JACKPOT: Is it Fate, Destiny or Luck?
I voted luck, but the poll needs better options besides other for people who truly believe they are going to successfully predict it one of these days with their math/sats/Excel charts or whatever. I don't suppose they'd attribute their win to fate or luck. Destiny? Maybe.
Not to poke fun at all the Excel junkies and their technicolor dream charts, but I find that mindset sort of fascinating even though I don't agree with it.

Airline launches its own lottery to encourage travelers to take the middle seat
A social media poll conducted by Virgin Australia found that only 0.6% of over 7,500 voters prefer the middle seat.
Something's not right in the head with at least 45 people.
