The lottery has told us many times that 70 to 80 of winners are from quick pick tickets, and that 70 to 80% of tickets are QP. I'd expect the same thing to be true of where winning tickets were sold. If 40% of tickets are sold at gas stations then about 40% of winners will have been sold at gas stations. There was an email circulating sometime ago saying that your chances of winning were better if you play when it's low because there wasn't as much competition. That of course isn't true, but it does reduce your chance of having to share. I think that logic is flawed since the higher the jackpot, the more there is to go around. I do agree with the idea of not playing calendar dates and other common sets of numbers because there will be serious sharing of the jackpot if one of those combos hit
