Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
I actually hate that some states let winners remain anonymous. Everytime I see a trust claim a prize i always think a lottery official is claiming it. It would be so easy to do so.

My brother says if the jackpot rolls to over a billion, and he is the sole winner, he is starting a YouTube channel. He thinks you will not be able to remaain anonymous anyway, so you should at least make some more money off it. I thould him he is crazy.

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
Aye, it's important to remember anonymity does not release due diligence by the lottery. It just cloaks the winners identity, not the scrutiny from the lottery. If there appears to something askew they're going to investigate. Anonymous does not mean impunity.

One million dollars in a time of need for New Jersey couple
This is truly good news! Such a deserving couple, but I'm concerned about all the vultures that will come after them. Is there no way to remain anonymous? If you think you're getting unwanted calls and propositions before this, imagine how many people have the gall to ring their doorbell with a plea or pitch? I'd have to move, get a more secure security system, and change my phone number!

$435 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot on track to 17-month high
With the MM nearing $100 million, I highly doubt if the jackpot is won that it will shield the winner unless it's in an anonymous state. Vultures will attack for a whole lot less.

State bills to allow anonymous winners
There should be a vote in every state and commonwealth. If the person wants to remain anonymous that is their right and choice. Simple as that. too much social media and who knows what else. Good topic.

Creating a trust or LLC to claim lottery winnings
Asset protection should be the first concern for anyone after signing the ticket. Even if your state lottery does not allow a jackpot winner to remain anonymous, a trust, LLc, or both would be advisable. There's always going to jealous and greedy folks (especially family members) who will pull out all the stops to get a nice chunk of that cash.

Indiana Powerball winner claims $435 million jackpot anonymously
Yeah, so much for anonymity . The press release has so many clues, it's ridiculous. What's the point of describing where he works, and even more so, where he went to University?? How did that info even come up? Do you have to disclose such things? Or did he just blab it all out in excitement at the lottery office? Perhaps future winners in anonymous states should fabricate a personal history to throw the hyenas off their trail.
