New Zealand couple had no idea they held lottery ticket worth $5 million
Note that it was a roll down secondary prize. secondary prizes are usually distributed from a poll of around $50k the rule in NZ currently is that a jackpot is must win if it gets to or over $50million. No one had the six numbers plus powerball (Powerball is a separate prize pool to the Lotto pool.. ) so the jackpot rolled down to the next level -- 10 tickets with 5 numbers, the bonus number, and the powerball number (10 people had all six numbers but not the powerball) so 10 peopl

Who would you form a lottery pool with?
I have often played with two reputable people who run their player pool on YouTube. I have been playing with them for over a year now on, off. Miss Player who has a $10.00 buy in for either California SuperLotto, or sometimes Powerball, or Mega Millions. Scratcher Heaven who has a $10.00 buy in for Powerball, or Mega Millions depending on the jackpot amount, but mostly a higher buy-in for scratcher ticket book pool playing. (Scratcher Heaven mostly does books of scratcher tickets). I pl

db101's save the date pick 4 method
It's a perfectly good method of coming up with a P4 number to play, no better or worse than any of the thousands methods posted on this forum, and certainly up to par with anything created by users who have achieved sacred cow status. Please ignore the knuckleheads harassing you. They don't have the balls to criticize the sacred cows and their equally arbitrary systems. (Many cults have formed around certain users and systems around here. It is truly ridiculous. ) Your method reminds me of th

Would you join a lottery pool consisting solely of family members?
One would hope that any court would realize that a person who did not participate in the pool was not entitled to anything from the win, regardless of the legal definition you've employed. Aside from that, the legal definition you quote is framed in Family Law dealing with benefits and entitlements setting the legal requirements for who might contest a will or why an adopted child is entitled to child support. It would be a rigorous task, bordering the impossible, to win anything based on

Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle XXVIII
I'm in a pool at work and I had mentioned to the guy who runs it that PA Millionaire Raffle tickets were for sale. He usually buys MM and PB tickets for the pool, and he said although he thought the odds were hard to ignore with the raffle, he wasn't sure if others in the pool would want to spend 20 bucks on one ticket that might win one million dollars when he could buy 10 PB tickets with that same 20 dollars that could win multiple millions. I agreed with that. Yesterday he sent the email

Lottery flub pays off: Michigan co-workers win $1M
You're right, I meant 50 lines (or sets of numbers). While it's true that the probability of one QP matches one of the lottery pool tickets is low, so is the chance of winning. In fact they are exactly the same. The probability of just two QP matching one of the lottery pool tickets (50 in 150 million) is double the chance of the pool winning (50 in 300 million).

Lottery flub pays off: Michigan co-workers win $1M
l think you right. Your post got me thinking. To avoid this mix up if you are the designated lottery ticket purchaser in a pool, buy all the pools tickets at one location. When you good and done with that. Cross the street if you have to and buy your own batch at another location. If push come to shove from the pool if you win, hire an attorney on the cheap and instruct him to say the following. 60 tickets for the pool were bought at Sandy's bakery- that's the total amount, not a ticket more, not

$750 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges to 4th-largest ever
l know what you said, l was merely giving an opinion from my POV. For instance having one ticket lately does not translate into multiple winners. The last pool to win was from San Jose, in California and that came as a shock.l am going out on a limb here,by saying that l doubt a pool has claimed a jackpot since Gloria Mackenzie won. I am using her as the starting point. The Smith family from NJ does not qualify as a pool to me, since the Mother came up with the numbers then split the winnings wi

Cycles - Interesting Numbers
So this is really killing me at the moment. In a 6/45 game I've worked out: How to consistently get 5 numbers from a selection pool of between 18 to 24 numbers. The 5 number hit comes up on either the next game or the one that follows, consistently!! How to intermittently get 6 numbers from a selection pool of between 18 to 24 numbers. The 6 number hit comes up randomly, I can not get a fix on what triggers it. What this is showing me is that I have found a way to reduce the number po
