Well the starting amount of $500,000 is all cash for the PA 6/49 ... no annuity, but it still seems to increase slowly. Better yet, buy multiple tickets to increase your chances. A couple who were good friends of my father hit the Powerball jackpot some years ago. They told him that they always bought at least 200 plays every month without fail. A recent Mega Millions jackpot winner said he purchased thirty plays the day he bought his big winner.

As of this very moment there's about a 50% chance that it will roll again. A couple of years ago I'd have figured that a rollover when it was already at 500+ would almost certainly mean reaching a billion, but now I'm very skeptical. It's looking like tonight's final tally won't be very much past 500, for an increase of only 105 to 130 million from the last one. That's half of what we saw for the record PB jackpot in November 2012. I expect that 2 more rolls would finally push it to a billion

As of PM 01/28 MUSL is projecting the next draw to be about $322 million annuity. If no winner Saturday, jackpot will be $317 annuitized. Jeez. Would you feel comfortable buying jp ticks there? If it was strictly about how many previous winners there were, sure. Winning is determined by the numbers on the ticket and not where it's bought. The only sensible reasons to buy in a particular state are where you happen to be, and if you can be anonymous. If I happen to be passing through MD and the jackpot is above my threshold I'll play there since I could be anonymous if I were to win. That would mean paying MD income taxes, but as
