Florida Lottery education spending investigated
The sad part of all this is that lottery money has been used, especially the past 10-15 years, as 'in lieu of' funding for schools. $200 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot heats up
YoungNRich (???),
hopefully you're just joking about gambling $2,000 on the PowerBall jackpot. Let's look at the math: The odds of winning the PowerBall jackpot are approximately 197,000,000 to 1 AGAINST you. Yes, that's 197 MILLION to 1 AGAINST you. Even if you played $2,000 on a single game, your odds are still 98,500 to 1 AGAINST you. In other words, even if you played $2,000, it's about a HUNDRED THOUSAND to 1 that you'll win. Now, if you make lots of money and you can waste $2,000, by al

$218 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot increased
Why do Mega Millions and Powerball show different Cash Option amounts for similar-sized jackpots?
A fixed percentage of every Mega Millions and Powerball ticket sold goes into its CASH jackpot. The cash jackpot is all the money that the lottery has on hand from the sale of tickets in the game. If a player chooses the cash option, then the lottery will pay entire cash amount to the winner (less income tax withholding amounts required by federal and state laws).
The lottery also offers an AN

$116M Georgia Powerball winner claims prize
