I'd like to know why it's a given that an increase in price is automatically 100%? Why can't it be 10% or 25% if one is needed? Sure, it's easier dealing in whole dollars but we're quite capable of dealing in change too just like we do with everything else we buy. There is no need for the lotteries to double the price of a ticket.

People move for a lot of reasons, but they're almost always logical reasons. A better job or a better chance of findng a job have already been mentioned. Lower cost of living. Better skiing or surfing. Moving might give you better options for buying lottery tickets if you live in a state without a lottery.
