Scratch off's
I just googledmy state. This is what ai said....., Maryland scratch-off prizes are paid in a lump sum, not an annuity . Annuity payments, which distribute winnings in installments over many years, are an option only for large jackpot prizes from specific drawing games like Powerball, Mega Millions, and Multi-Match.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Jade, I am a bit uncertain of your recent graph your ratio's which are completely different from the current Annuity vs Cash ratio for the next draw. Recent ratios are hovering around 46.1 - 46.5 % fairly consistently.
$503 Annuity vs 302 Cash = 60.03%
$474 Annuity vs 219.4 Cash = 46.28%
Using $503 Annuity figure at the current 46.28% = $232.78 Cash not $302
Can you explain this for my understanding ?? please and thanks

$1.8 BILLION: Powerball jackpot now second-largest ever as ticket sales surge across the USA
HLK.....Perhaps you take the annuity and for the first year pay your 6% . Then move to CA for the remaining 29 payments. That first annuity payment of $27M isn't anything to snicker about BUT will always be your lowest tax payout.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I agree I think it's going to end up between 1.45 and 1.5 tonight.
The worksheet is reporting a supported annuity of 1.411, and I'd imagine they're still being deliberately conservative, so 1.45 seems likely to be close to the least we should be expecting.
Saturday is projected at 1.7 but I'll be surprised if it's not between 1.8 and 1.9
They're forecasting sales of $467 million, and a supported annuity of 1.762, so I'd think it should easily get to 1.8. Based on the current foreca

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The cash value is only running at 10% of what it would be when it was at $2.00 a line.
90% of all other cash jackpots were much higher by this time in the jackpot run.
This may be reflective of this poll where nearly 60% are not playing.
Has nothing to do with the price of the game. Cash v. Annuity value only depends on the expected return of US 30-yr bonds.
The lottery starts with the actual funds they have (=cash value) and then advertise the annuity multiplying the cash value

Mega Vs Power, Something is off..
I guess it's time for a reminder about how jackpots (cash and annuity) are calculated. The cash option is NOT a calculated fraction of the annuity.

will you play the new $5 mega millions?
The cash payout isn't a penalty . It's the amount the lottery would have to invest to pay the annuity for 20, 30, or whatever years the payout is for the jackpot. The cash payout is actually the true jackpot, they just like to promote the annuity jackpot because, well, it sounds better.

$825 MILLION: Massive Mega Millions drawing set for Friday
considering how much the ratio of annuity to cash value fluctuates, and how every almost winner takes the cash instead of annuity, i do not see any value in the ranking of annuities. might as well rank invisible pink unicorns. the cash value ranking list is the only one that is interesting and has practical meaning.

California man says he's waited nine weeks for $44 million Powerball lottery jackpot payout
Sounds like California Lottery is making the process super complicated.
I live in Colorado and here are the Powerball regulations for my state:
14.A.6 Payment of Prizes A. - Grand Prizes shall be paid at the election of the Ticket Holder either by a single cash payment or in a series of annuity payments. The Ticket Holder becomes entitled to the Prize at the time the Prize is validated as a Prize Winner. However, the Grand Prize is paid by the Lottery upon receipt of funds from MUSL no e
