Kansas Lottery officials mull GTECH systems failure
Kansas Lottery officials already had more than their hands full with the selection of gaming license applicants for their four casinos so they really didn't need another problem.
But, there it is: a casino data systems failure from GTECH, the Providence-RI-based firm that manages the state's lottery activities.
It was defective software, pure and simple, said Ed Van Petten, lottery executive director, in describing the systems failure. GTECH, a former publicly-traded American company, was

Anybody playing lottery out of revenge?
I do.
My life was shattered 9 years ago. I tried to dust it off and rise again, but I alway failed. I still vividly remember the faces of people who destroyed my life.
My psychosomatic pain started on January 2005. I couldn't function at all. The pain started when I learned about one of them who slept her way through a high-profile corporate job, a car designer. I couldn't eat and sleep. I desperately yearned for exit but it didn't come. On August 2005 I had a dream and one old woman in

Software error stalls validation of some winning D.C. lottery tickets
Glitch delayed winnings for several dozen ticketholders; cause still sought
A mysterious software bug in 17 lottery machines used by the D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board in Washington left several dozen winning instant ticketholders unable to immediately cash their prize tickets last week.
The problem, according to Jay Young, chief operating officer of the lottery board, was tracked to the proprietary software that validates instant tickets with winning numbers, but the exac

David kills Goliath in Michigan will keep promise to friends!
fbird, many lotteries won't pay more than one winner. For example, in Florida they will only write one check to the ticket holder.
The IRS also won't let you get away with a last minute gift like that. The ticket itself is worth just one dollar, so you can give the ticket away, just not the money! You need to show that you already had an agreement or it's a gift.
The lottery doesn't divvy up portions of the jackpot. It's not their job. You can, however, gift the ticket to your friend and

FINES-An Updated 1-Number System
Now look at the same one number system with some filters applied.
1. eliminate all-even and all-odd
2. Eliminate all-high and all-low
Use other filters at your discretion to contract even futher. Just these two filters reduces the list to 25 numbers...using only 5 and 9 for example

POLL 2 of 3: Switching to computerized drawings
I did answer LESS in the poll. My comments were not meant to criticize the pollster.
Having already been through this in my home state (they didn't tell us about the switch until after the fact), I was compelled to point out that spending NO money on the games makes a stronger statement, and is much more effective, than spending less. The lotteries will never hear us if we keep handing them our money. Even if we spend less, we're still playing, and we're still buying tickets, so the

Jack's back: Judge orders record lottery winner to pay settlement
The winner of a $315 million lottery jackpot has been ordered to honor a settlement he reached with a racetrack worker who accused him of assaulting her.
A judge issued a summary judgment Wednesday against Jack Whittaker in a breach of contract lawsuit filed in February by Rhonda L. Lilly.
Lilly, who was a floor attendant at Tri-State Racetrack Gaming Center in Nitro, had agreed to an undisclosed settlement from Whittaker in exchange for dismissing a personal injury claim against him, th

Why can teenagers play the lotto?
Guesser, my friend, Hugh Heffner doesn't film children having sex. He also pays the models in his magazines a lot of money. I'm too tired to get into a long discussion about GGW. You obviously don't know how many times this piece of dirt has been arrested for using underage girls in his videos. He's been found guilty on drug possession, pornography, and the corruption of a minor (some of the girls in his videos are only 16) and gets off with a fine and community service. The police found coc
