Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Back in March of this year, the Powerball jackpot was $527 million while the Mega Millions jackpot was only $29 million. The Powerball jackpot was over 18 times larger than Mega Millions. Sales for Mega Millions were not zero. In fact, they were large enough for the jackpot to increase to $43 million in the next draw.
The point is, regardless of the ticket price or jackpot size, players like buying tickets for both games.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I believe Mega Millions will prove to be a huge success.
Here is my prediction. Within the next 52 weeks, the new Mega Millions game will break the Mega Millions record jackpot of $1.58 billion and the Powerball record jackpot of $2.04 billion.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
A $20 ticket for a chance, to win $1 million is steep I agreed with you. I balk at $5 lottery tickets, there's no way I can justify $20 for a chance to win $1 million. I'd honestly rather buy 4 $5 Mega millions tickets(And I absolutely detest $5 Mega millions tickets with every fiber of my being) for a chance to win $496 million than 1 $20 Millionaire raffle ticket.

It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
$5 for a single Mega Millions lottery ticket is insane. In Florida we can buy a $5 grouper and get a $3 lotto, $1 Jackpot triple play, a free $1 fantasy , and a $1 straight pick 4. We can buy a $2 lotto, $2 Powerball, and a $1 fantasy 5 ticket for $5 The lottery commission is out of their minds charging $5 for a single Mega Millions ticket when we can get more tickets for the same price.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
That's not what I saw on the Virginia lottery site when I clicked on Mega Millions, where did you see it? The site also suggests quick picks when you click on Mega Millions so why would it do that if you can't pick numbers?

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I think Mega Millions will keep this $5 price tag on the tickets for at least another 15 years like they did with the previous $2 ticket price. But I also suspect that Powerball will raise their ticket price to $5, especially with the success that Mega Millions has with this recent large jackpot.
