Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
Good points. You could have the lottery deposit the money into an interest-bearing savings account and set up automatic transfers to your checking account. Make the transfers a bit less than 1/52 of the annual payment and save the difference plus interest.
You could transfer $7,000 per week and have about $50,000 left over each year from the $1M minus taxes.

Would have been $200 if I played a dollar with fb... but I like to go to the store and cash out unless I have a good number in play... but either way I could just play more of the same number for the same outcome...
without worrying about the taxes...ya know.

The $29.95 Non-Believerz
What I do for a living is none of your business nosey old man. And no. I dropped out in the 3rd grade. As far as my spelling goes I could care less. Just remember all the money I pay in taxes goes to your ssdi check. So you can stuff it in a machine and get ripped off. I hope as soon as you walked away the machine started spitting out ticketss and someone elese snatched them up and won something. Have fun being 70 and chasing a pipe dream. Elmer!

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
I hope it actually gets to $3 Billion so when I or someone hit it we can literally see someone walk away as a billionaire after cash option and taxes.
It's not impossible, but it's going to take a lot more than $3 billion for that to happen unless interest rates go way down. Even if interest rates go way down it will still take the same amount of cash, and the same number of tickets without producing a winner sooner. With the current interest rate you'd net about 29% of the annuity value af

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
You should get your facts straight first. He ended up with $620M+ after taxes.
CA doesn't tax lottery winnings.

Virginia Lottery Director Khalid R. Jones appointed as Mega Millions Lead Director
Though I won $30 twice the week of the big jackpot, that was it for me until the jackpot rises way up there. Sure lower 'millions' sounds great, but too hard to win.
Won $1500 and $500 Saturday @ Derby City Gaming. The former was tax free since we don't have casinos, based on horse races. I had a high bet negating taxes.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I wish there would a new Lottery drawing on Tuesday's and Friday's to replace Mega Millions for those of us who are only willing to shell out $1-$2 per ticket for a drawing.
I currently get Fantasy 5 tickets and would rather throw that dollar at something that is at least a couple million after taxes. I guess I'll stick with Powerball and Super Lotto Plus until something changes.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Someone in California won the 2nd tier prize for Powerball yesterday. In any other state, it would have been $1 million but due to how secondary prizes in California are calculated, they only won $171k before any taxes.
If that was me, I would be thankful but also salty as all hell at the same time.

These are the stories they don' talk about.
But one Lucky man in Ohio cashed in a $7,500,000.00 and will take home x amount after taxes.
