Man wins $100,000 in one Pick 4 drawing
I may be wrong and maybe there is a shortcut for Mr. Holland, but the article said he is from Fayetteville NC, that is about at least 3 hour drive to Martinsville. Maybe if he do make the trip daily he played after work. I live about 45 minutes from Martinsville, and Fayetteville is a 3hr drive for me. So hopefully it was after hours from Post Office. Congrats to Mr.Holland

Lottery hoax causes riot at Ohio coat store
I'm in total agreement with you--I thought this is a post for lottery players to discuss THE LOTTERY!!! At least I thought so...anyway I just read awful article and this is the worst lotto story I have ever read since I joined this post and knowing human nature, it certainly won't be the last.

Odds are, stunning coincidences can be expected
Ever consider writing a book?
Thanks. I may write well, but that's a lot different than being a writer, and it's alot different than being a story teller.
yet 3 statiticians all report diifferent odds?
I read an article saying there are at least two diferent lotteries in Bulgaria. Early on I was under the impression that the one in question was 6/49, but another article says it's 6/42. That accounts for the 1 in 14 and 1 in 5.2 million figures. Nobody seems to know where the 1 in 4

Great article. I wonder if there will be a lot of people, who will continue to play that line hoping it will come out again.

Now broke, teen lottery winner blew through $3M
She is old enough to have kids and old enough to have millions of dollars. Plus, she is clearly an adult now. Criticism of her is fair game. From the article, she would likely agree with everything said about her here.

Michigan church wins $70,000 in lottery
That's why I feel this article is so newsworthy. If I ever hit it big I'll have a full time job researching who gets my money. Church will be at the top of the list!

Connecticut lottery players' prize claim period cut in half
I hope they have to do a solid media blitz on this. No small article on the back page of the least read section of the newspaper or 15 second blip on the news. If they are making a major change like this, it should have a major, and prolonged, public announcement. I hope future winners take just enough time to get some sound legal advice and then claim their money, thereby proving their calculations wrong and cutting into the interest the state earns on the money while waiting for the winners to

Kansas man wins big in lottery for 2nd time in '09
Well, if he only spends $5 dollars or so like he usually does, (the article said, he buys 5.00 dollar quick picks) then I don't see how he would go broke. You choose to spend your $500 winnings in one day. A lot of people can win $500 and spread it over a period of time. One time, I $40 dollars and was able to make that last a month or so because I choose to spread it over a certain amount of time and not use it all at once.
