New York Pick 4 (Serious Players Only)
For those of you who visit this thread, I will be no longer posting in this thread for awhile. I've changed states, I will now be posting for PA in the new PA thread that I have created. Based on the LP report card, I was only testing 100% true drawing states, although I made progress it didn't fare to well. Maybe this state is literally a true drawing state, this is why I am going to start anayzing computerized states. I need to know the limitations of my program, I've been working on and PA is

GTECH picked to run Indiana Lottery
Hey grwurston - this is Chip Polston with the KY Lottery. I wanted to clarify the computerized games reference in this story. I sat in on the interview yesterday between the reporter and our president and CEO. There was some confusion as to what was meant by that - draw games used to be called online games, and they were given this term before the advent of the Internet (and thus the phrase online took on a whole different meaning). The reference to computer means the tickets are printed from a

Michigan 3 & 4 digit dailys ARE manipulated...Is your state cheating
Sadly, I don't trust my state either. (Idaho) Which is a shame, because I really enjoy playing the lottery. All the games here are computerized (Pick 3, Wild Card 2, and Hot Lotto) except Powerball. The Pick 3 here is awful. The payouts for winners are very low. There are very few winners each drawing. I bet if the drawings were live and they used balls, that there would be a lot more winning tickets. But they couldn't possibly do that.

What chance have we got ?!?
The two most important factors are consistency and transparency. Some states, like Texas, release all the details about all the pre-test drawings, so you can factor in those pre-draws along with the draw data. That is ideal.
If the lotteries did not make sure their machines were operating properly before each drawing, then people would be up in arms about all the mistakes and errors they would make during the live broadcasts. At least with a ball machine you're ensured of a fair drawing, whi

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings under suspicion again
I am against the computer drawings because of the risks of manipulating the system. A person created the system; consequently, a person or persons can hack it. The mechanical ball system is preferrable because of eliminating this manipulation risk. Think about it, there is no 24/7 monitoring of the computerized system; therefore the opportunity is there. At least with the mechanical drawing the player has the opportunity to visually watch the process. As far as cost effectiveness, Tennessee has

Why do some people feel computerized drawings are not random?
I just don't see a computer being random enough. I just don't trust them. I trust ball drawings. I still play RNG games because in my state they are all computerized except Powerball and I like to play Hot Lotto and Wild Card 2.

the future of the lottery as you see it...
Contrary to the belief that most states will go computerized, i think the opposite will happen or at least stay the same...Ball drawings will never go away because there is a loss of credibility with comps and that will mean loss of sales....the lottery makes money either way...Big states like NY, NJ, CA will be very hard to computerize mainly due to peoples reaction...people react differently in NY as they do in the south...and if something were to go wrong in NY it will be magnified 10x compar
