In New York - how do I find out if there are top prizes left?
i also have been wondering this question the NYS lottery website does not tell us how many top prize remain or how many they start out with in a specific game..the only game i see on the website is the 500,000,000 exstravaganza after they report a recent winner the say how many top prizes are left as of the publish date in the article..all games should disclose this i think

TV station investigates repeating Kentucky Lottery scratch winners
The article is talking mainly about scratch off winners. Scratch offs are supposed to be random . Now if a person had a lottery system where they can hit the jackpot in games such as cash 5 or cash 6 more than once..then more power to them..That to me is achievable but to do the same thing with scratch offs is totally unbelievable and frankly it should be questioned. Also, why do the winners of these scratch offs all seem to be clustered in certain areas?

W. Va. woman wins 9th big lottery prize
I agree. There was nothing in the article that stated she worked at a store and was cheating. I have no idea why some people have the think the worst of someone just because they happen to have a lucky streak.

Tennessee: 6/1 - 6/30/2009
DId any of you read the article in the TEnnessean yesterday regarding the TN lottery Scholarships? The lottery spokesperson finally admitted that sales are down, but attributes it to the low powerball sales. It's not necessrily the Powerball, it's really the computerized drawing that have caused the decrease. To many repeat numbers and low payouts.

Lottery Post quoted in Powerball "what if" article
Excellent article Todd - Thank You for sharing, however, the commentsmade after the blog were quite negative... I sometimes wonder how thesefolk walk around all day - apparently they need to spend a little timeat the LotteryPost to become a lil more upbeat. Anywho, thanks let us know of any increased web traffic... Pogo

NASCAR fan wins $75.6M lottery jackpot
There's certainly an awfully good argument that somebody who's spending $23 a week on lottery tickets and is out of work isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, or has trouble with impulse (or irrational) spending. Of course the article isn't clear enough to be sure that he was still spending that much after he lost his job. That he talked with a lawyer and got financial advise before rushing out to claim the prize suggests that he'll be okay.

Tennessee Lottery shortfall requires reserves
wow i just got through reading the tennessean article and there are lots of people in there putting comments about not playing anymore because of the computer draws.i used to think that the general lottery player here in tennessee didn't know or care how the draws were done but i was shocked at how many people had said they quit because of the computer draws.apparently people are coming to their senses about this even if it is the everyday joe who buys a ticket with his coffee.i'm getting this h

Tennessee Lottery shortfall requires reserves
If you check the Related Stories box above, you'll see another article from 2008 where she blamed Powerball also. I guess when you're looking for cover, it always helps to blame someone else!

Tennessee: 5/1 - 5/31/2009
Did anyone read today's Tennessean. The answer for the low payouts lies in the Lottery Scholarship article. In a nutshell it says that there isn't enough lottery money to pay for scholarships due to an increase of lottery payouts on the instant tickets. Soooooo, Pick 3 payouts are gonna stay low probably until more revenue appears. The Stimulus money isn't earmarked for lottery scholarships.

North Carolina: 5/1 - 5/31/2009
Well, we were discussing couple of days ago how things do not look right with the televised drawing, now there is an article about the store clerks raking in on the wins. NCEL commission does not think anything about it except that the store owners are just lucky. I think the store owners are not only lucky, but they also have the keys to the hen house.
