It means that the probability of winning when you buy a ticket is roughly 1/67.36 = ~ 1.48% It does not mean that buying 68 tickets will guarantee a win. The probability of not winning anything after buying 68 tickets is about 36%! Of course, this assumes independence (i.e. quick pick in draw games). Like in Mega Millions, you can buy all 15 balls and guarantee a win but buying 15 quick picks still has a 34.8% chance of not winning anything. Scratch-offs do not possess independence, although

MillionsWanted, These machines don't work that way. You put the money in first, then can select scratchers or a draw game. If you select a draw game the default is a quick pick. But if you insert a play slip for a draw game a tickets is issued for that game. Since I inserted a slip and didn't hit the Mega Millions choice it's kind of strange. Also, two lines of MM (no Megaplier) would be $2, there was only $1 in the machine.
